Hello dear old friends and many, many new faces,

In true “blast from the past” manner and in the capacity I have right now, I’m here to say hello, I miss you, I’m trying to read at least the blog and discussions as often as I can, and to ask you for some feedback. I hope you’ll forgive this post-and-run and please know that if my time allowed me, resuming some of my activities on the forum would be the first thing I’d do. I miss being around you all more, I miss the friendship, the collective wisdom and the visual feast of YLF community. Right now it’s all about balancing work and home life, and I’m exploring if there are any chances to cut down my working hours because full-time working with long commute is quite overwhelming.

Today was the first day this year that I went to work without the jacket, the weather was so unstable and unpredictable so far. And, I wore something I never though I would - culottes. From the moment Angie mentioned them long time ago, my reaction was pure disbelief that they were entering the mainstream again. “Aren’t they from the 80s (frump alert!) and shouldn’t they stay in that era?”, I wondered, there were not many things I had such visceral reaction about. Well, but… I’ve learnt enough about myself thanks to YLF to take such my reaction seriously - and to know that I should just let the idea of them simmer in my head and remain open minded.

Long story short, my old conclusion that at all times I need to have reliable, versatile black bottoms other than simple pencil skirt and my slow adoption of the styles I had strong initial reaction to, both materialised themselves in what else but - culottes. Right style, right fabric, right price, and I decided they were worth a try.

Worn with the old cotton sweater and my new pointy flats. I can’t explain why, but I like these culottes. They are comfortable, versatile and interesting addition to my wardrobe. What do you think? Honesty more than welcome, because I just might be a bit biased. And do you prefer the sweater worn tucked or untucked?

Thank you for reading.
