My rellies have just left (I have had little forum time while they were here, though lots of lovely family time) and thought I'd put up my Christmas Day photos.
I am wearing the apple green dress Deborah gave me. Having to wear three layers ( the dress underneath is lined) was pretty hot, and I took this off soon after I got home from church.

Anne you look gorgeous. The green is SO flattering. And the floral you have layered underneath the dress is so unexpected (in a good way), it really looks lovely. The length and fit look perfect. Your girls are too cute:)

Beautiful. I've been wondering, does Santa imagery in the southern hemisphere involve all the snow and cold? Or does it take your weather into account? And if it is all snowy, how do kids relate?

Suz, the heat varies. If it is what I term "pleasant summer" you can wear things like I did on Xmas day. It is only in the "hot summer" that I live in sundresses! But the hot summer is tiresome!

Alecia - a bit of both - there are plenty of Christmas cards with snow etc on them down here too. But there are a few alternative images like Rolf Harris song "six white boomers" (eg kangaroos) pulling a sleigh or pictures of surfing santa etc.

Anne, you and your girls looked so lovely on Christmas day in your Christmassy colours!
Cherish each and every Christmas while they are this age-the excitement and wonder of the season loses its magic as they grow.
For the hot weather you could also crop an older cami to wear underneath this dress for coverage without adding too much extra warmth.

It is still surreal to me, even though I know that you are in the midst of summer now, to think of a warm Christmas. My north-hemisphere mind boggles!

Thanks Kari!! I am quite comfortable with the winter imagery for Christmas - I guess the cultural history is so strong in that direction. I don't own anything else in that shade and have only had one thread wearing the dress, when Deb first sent it.

Lyn - the whole dress is see through - it isn't just the neckline that needs filling in
