I recently went to California to visit family for 5 days. Here are some outfits from the trip. Even though I only wore one item (the grey jeans) other than shoes twice, everything in the capsule was actually mix- and match-able. I went with mostly neutrals with some pops. All the tops go with both the skirt and the jeans, both pairs of shoes go with everything, and the dress could be layered with the navy blouse underneath or the mesh sweater on top. I was very pleased with how this capsule turned out and I wore everything in my bag. This was for a casual trip but I could totally use this capsule for a conference (scientific, so pretty casual) too, although I'd probably add a blazer of some sort and maybe swap the grey jeans for dark wash ones or a pair of cropped skinny pants.

1: navy silk/cotton blouse (AT), handknit cowl, grey jeans (Gap), and red patent sandals (Naot)
2: blush linen tee (Gap), printed skirt (Anthro), and gold oxfords (born)
3-4: a new navy swing dress (COS, purchased at a winter sale, but not worn until now) and the Naot sandals. The dress has a self tie in the back. I think the neckline is slightly too high for me but I like it anyway. My mom commented that this is a style of dress I've been wearing for 20 years, LOL. Hey, I know what I like and what looks good on me.
5: handknit mesh sweater over a layering tank and the grey jeans and oxfords again.

not pictured but also worn:
-travel outfit - my chartreuse jersey sack dress + leggings (a fresh pair for each flight). On the first day, I took off the leggings in the airport bathroom when I arrived and just wore the dress w/ oxfords for the rest of the day in CA.
-Spiegel lemming black leather jacket
-a lightweight grey cocoon cardigan
-black and white pashmina
-MZ wallace nylon crossbody (in finds below) - this was my bag for the whole trip. I did have my Longchamp but I only used it as a travel bag.

Bonus random pics at the end.
