Hi Fab Ones,

Trying to get back into the routine of daily outfit pics.

Wearing my Monki dress (via ASOS) that I had taken in. I am much happier with the width and volume now. I think this might fit the JFE (just flattering enough) category. It's cooling down so leggings and booties were the order of the day but the dress works well without leggings/tights and I am discovering it can be layered over nicely as well.

I think I may have overdone the black recently so I am feeling tomorrow's work outfit will start with a blue draped top:)

Thanks for taking the time and ideas and styling suggestions always very appreciated.

I think this looks good Deborah.

For alternatives, I'd like to see some skin between the leggings & footwear to balance the neckline - but you know me & all black or another layer with some texture.

Yeay for cooling down there and opportunity to wear the dress with leggings AND so wanted booties! I so can understand the need of altering this dress, and indeed is now not only JFE but think it feels much more you and still stylish, artsy, comfy and versatile!

Can't wait tomorrow's outfit, with the blue top:-)

Is it possible to overdo black if it one of your "colours"?
Definitely one of your colours - love the drape of the dress and your bright red lippy.

I agree with KC- you always nail the textural interest and drape in your black outfits, so we never tire of them!

Definitely JFE! I love that dress and the chicness of combining it with leggings and boots, all in black. Where I come from we always called that the "new york look." (and meant it as a compliment).

Have you ever tried adding some kind of bold silver necklace with this type of outfit? I really love the way graphic silver pieces look when draped on all black ensembles and you could totally pull that look off.

LL yes I love bright silver on black:). Today I was working at a community meal so I tend to keep my outfits pretty minimal, for work or going out I will definitely add some silver. I have a three strand, three tone silver necklace which would be great. Thank you:)

Thanks for the black love ladies! As much as I love it, every now and then I do need a day of change. You won't see me in bright yellow but I they're the days I might add some navy or cobalt:)

I think this dress looks fab on you and am so glad you had the alterations done. Amazing what some tweaking can do, isn't it? I'm like Caro and would love a peek of skin at the ankle between the legging hem and the boots, but I think this looks good too.

This is a good amount of volume -- lovely drape and movement without overwhelming, and it looks so comfy!

Deborah- the shape of that dress is so elegant, with lovely drape and just enough volume. I love this look for you. While I am sure you wear blue beautifully, your signature color is always well done.

Love this :), I'm looking forward to some cooler weather so I can wear leggings with my dresses. This dress has come up a treat with a little alteration. I have a dress and I love the fabric but not the shape........
