Hello Wonderful Women,

Life facts:

  1. I miss you.
  2. I feel like I miss out so much... all the great outfits, discussions, news. There are so many new faces - special hello to new fabbers.
  3. I check the blog daily, forum occasionally - 10 minutes I could occasionally allocate can easily turn into 1 hour and I must resist the temptation.
  4. I still log my outfits daily - whether on paper or on my phone. My initial idea was to recreate some outfits in a calmer setting when I have time and post them here. Not happening I'm afraid. I need extra 2 hours per day on average, and that's just for housework or sleeping.
  5. SAHM&W to full time working mum and wife was quite a jump - I'm occasionally sleep deprived and try to go to bed once a week no later than 9 p.m. in order to function - but overall I am happier than I've been in a very long time. Life at home is manageable (school, work, housework, sleeping in between) and I LOVE my job!
  6. After last year's health annoyances, I've decided to press Reset button and take things into my own hands a bit more. Turns out you can always improve what you thought was a decent life-style. Big paybacks. Sugar is evil. Fresh juices rock. Spiralizer anyone? Avocado has always been a pet, but is now the king of my kitchen. So is lemon. Life tastes good.

Style facts:

  1. YLF rocks. Such news, right? Although I did not work for 3 years and did not need work wardrobe during that time, transition to work outfits was/is easy and so much fun. My wardrobe is at a great place at thanks to all the learnings and feedback from here, but most importantly - thanks to having opportunity and space to (a) identify and (b) tune into and (c) listen to myself and (d) follow my own needs and preferences. Thank you once again Angie and YLF!
  2. I've been curating and adding things carefully and it's been a joy. I have not abandoned colour, but apart from one scarf I have not added anything in colour this whole year. Also, apart from some old scarves and one favourite old shirt (see below), pattern is disappearing from my wardrobe. I am even more devoted to black and white (and denim) as my neutrals, grey has taken back seat, I have re-discovered navy as my new neutral darling. Less drama than black, but more options for sophistication when paired with other neutrals.
  3. Having ANY job means (finally) having bigger playground for my wardrobe experiments. With little time for other creative outlets, I can rely on playing with my wardrobe. Useful and fun, win win!
  4. Having THIS particular job has meant a lot of subtle wardrobe fine-tuning. I work at a great place, which is quite casual. But somehow here I don't feel rebellious like in similar settings before to challenge the environmental norms. I simply stick to what I consider appropriate work clothes that reflect me and my perception of my role (which evolves over time, and it’s great!).
  5. I've lost some weight as a result of healthier food choices and I am happy with my new frame, but it has created havoc in my jeans capsule. Everything needed replacing.
  6. I'm growing my hair. YLF only knows me with up to shoulder length and I want to go a bit longer.
  7. I became two bag lady - black one that's here to stay and can actually hold the kitchen sink, and the white one that's an affordable summer placeholder for something permanent when I find it. I still need decent new crossbody and/or slightly bigger upscale backpack, but overall I'm happy with the small and functional bag capsule.
  8. I am now three lipsticks lady. Not all at the same time, no worries. I have found my perfect neutral and perfect shade of purplish lippies, and with the old red favourite I am finally done with searching. Each victory of this sort, as little as it is, when I know I am there, releases more time and energy for other things, which is good good good.
  9. I became very fussy shoes buyer. As a result, shoes have been leaving my wardrobe, not entering. Good when I think that past choices were obviously comfortable, but bad when I think they will all go beyond the point of repair. Definite room for improvement and more focus in this section.

There's much more I'd like to share, but this has already turned out too long. TBC, I hope …

The outfits:
Posting some of the WIWs taken on the way to the office. Not the best quality, but a representative sample and hopefully good enough to give you an idea where I’m at style-wise. Your feedback welcome (if you still remember me, lol). Thanks for your time.
