Owing to not having a working phone for a while, I haven't posted a photo since May at least. - But I now have one!
Here's what I am wearing for casual Friday.

This kimono jacket was Suz's and then Lyn D's. Of course this lineage gives me a little thrill. I have to confess though, that I haven't worn it much recently. Today I am experimenting with wearing it with a long sleeve top underneath. Do you think it works? I'm not sure
My suspicion is that the neckline of the top underneath is too high.

Any comments/criticism welcome.

I like the column of color effect unde the kimono, without the scarf.

Thanks Columbine. I forgot to say that I ended up not wearing the scarf in the office (so far anyway). I agree it doesn't really work and was going to the column of colour effect that you noticed.

As the day wore on this outfit has proved a bit chilly, so am currently wearing my coat over it. I really have to plan for a jacket or jumper for work, and I'd thought that this long sleeve tee, which is fairly thick, might do - but clearly it doesn't.

I think the top is OK, but something with a scooped neck would look better. Show a bit of skin! The kimono is lovely.

The kimono is pretty. I have one too that I love but I struggle to wear in mid winter. I tend to like it best with jeans and a tank/vest top in spring or autumn, or on cooler nights in summer. They aren't quite warm enough for our winter.

I agree, maybe more open neckline top if you have one, but j think you are on the right track with keeping the " under outfit" simple to show off the kimono.

Nice to see you again, Anne! I agree with the others; a little lower neckline would let the kimono star.

Nice kimono, and nice to see you again! A slightly lower neckline would be a little more flattering, and add a little extra verticality as well. Not totally sold on the baby blue scarf with this, but it could just be the lighting.

Is there any way to crop the photos so there's less extra room around you? That way I can see more of your pretty details

Thanks! I can see that the light blue scarf picks up on some blue in the kimono, looks like it totally works. What a gorgeous print (and fun lineage ^^). I also really like your long dangly earrings with this look.

The cropped photograph helped see the outfit better. The column of color was a good idea. Is it too old to push up the sleeves of the tee?

Waving at "my" kimono!! It looks lovely on you, Anne. I like it with the column of colour. But I am not surprised you were chilly -- that is a definite summer piece in my climate!

It looks good with all blacks(?) wich give it an arty vibe, and I can totally understand the thrill:-), but I think it would look even better with a lower contrast column, or top(grey or olive?).

I was going to make the same suggestion as LynnD. I like the column of color and the artiness of the jacket but would like to see it with a softer neutral column under it to lower the contrast. The black feels just a bit heavy for the soft light fabric and you have a lot of colors in the topper to choose from to coordinate.

Very nice outfit though and it looks fab on you. Nice to see you again Anne.

Black provides kind of a canvas for this beautiful topper. It would work well with faded denim, grey or cream, too.Your coloring works beautifully with the topper.

Lyn - I think it is going to wait until spring for the next outing. Bit pointless have to wear my outdoor coat at the office!

Thanks everyone for the comments. It is actually blue I'm wearing underneath but I don't think the colour is showing well.
