Quick vegan dinner with my lovely hippie daughter tonight. I'm wearing my Best Buy of the summer -- thank you, Lisap! A black tank dress from Nordies for $34. Carrying a citron Loft outlet cardi and black Botkier bag.

Devon is wearing body art and a new dress from H&M and Birks. She hates shopping more than anything so this dress was a "let's just grab it and go, mom" kind of thing. Oh, to be fit and young!

Hope you enjoy. Had a wonderful night with this wonderful girl. Xxx

I really like how both of you did a variation on the theme (cotton dress, flat sandals)-- you both look great!
I have a DD (13) who is only into basketball shorts and Converse. I suppose it could be booty shorts & tube tops so I just go with she is mostly covered!

Ummlila: Watch out, birks and a young vegan? I have been down that path!!! It may be the gateway to a whole lifestyle. (Devon plans to spend January in India studying yoga.)

Suz: Devon does glow. She is an interesting young woman -- deeply into yoga and the outdoors, very connected to family, very emotional, very spiritual. It's amazing to turn away from "my world" (fashion, technology, business, current affairs) and spend time in hers.

BrieN: Not only does she hate shopping, but several years ago she completely disconnected from all social media, so she only let me post her picture when she understood where I was posting it. She is very private. So this was truly special!

Lisap: The sandals are below. I got them (free with an old credit on Amazon) for walking in Mexico -- they are comfortable but vegan so not as breathable as I would like; also, they make my feet look square! (Like birks would, I guess.) But I like the thick straps and Birks don't stay on my feet.

Isn't it lovely to have a grown-up daughter? I'm very grateful to have two. (Mine love to shop, and I'm always amazed at how good they look in everything they try on--youth and fitness, yes.)
