Hi Ladies,

Wore this to church today. Our weather is slowly warming up and today has been been lovely. I quite like that this 'looks' like a dress but it's a top and skirt in the same fabric. The only new item here is my cobalt sandals.

Looking at the pics, I see I should have worn my shapewear undies!!

Accessories simple, silver rings, silver bar necklace and very small square silver stud earrings.

I have had two recent revelations about my summer dressing! I quite like a longer skirt in summer with bare legs whereas a longer skirt in winter tends to look too much/too heavy on me. And despite my growing issues with my upper arms, I still prefer the look of sleeveless in summer as opposed to short sleeves

Your thoughts and/or suggestions for improvement of this outfit are much valued.

I think the draping is beautiful. Nothing to add here. I agree with you longer skirts in the winter can feel heavy. I think it's because of the type of footwear required in winter.

It's true, though - we are on at the same time. It's night-time here and Mr. Suz has gone to sleep early due to a very early waking this morning.

I love the sandals with this. What an inspired touch! And that looks like a great hot weather outfit. I actually like black in the summer even more than in the winter. It's nice with a bit of skin to show!

I have no words of wisdom for you but here is my experience:
My arms are old and battered and weathered with a long history of scarring, skin cancers and a fracture or two. Not to mention armadillo elbows. They have worked hard for me and still do. I aim for a philosophical acceptance of their signs of age and try to focus on their strength. I can't say I'm 100% successful. They look better when I'm swimming regularly, of course, but the down side of building my arms up is that they rapidly, and literally, go pear shaped as soon as I take a break.
I will hide them this summer from the sun but I'll bear them indoors and at night.
I don't think it spoils an outfit to have plump or wrinkly or tuck shop lady arms.
I think poor posture does because it affects the line of a garment.
So, if I were to give any advice it would be: accept your arms as the great love-givers they are and keep standing tall.

I think you look great and I love the mix of black, cobalt with silver jewelry. If you're concerned about your arms, and I'm not sure why you would be, the wider strap on the shoulders is very flattering look.

Looks great Deborah! I'm the same - sleeveless just seems to look better with skirts than short sleeves. I feel more comfortable with that combination too.

You look great. I totally agree with sleeveless over short sleeves, especially when you're not crazy about your arms. Short sleeves tend to hit at the widest part of the arm, making it look its absolute worst. Sleeveless tops make for much more shapely looking arms. I have ditched all my short sleeve tops except for a couple that are more cap sleeve length (stop above the top bicep curve). I also had a rude awakening with some elbow length tees I ordered and returned the other day...who knew elbows could be made to look fat and flabby?

So, this is a gorgeous "frock like" outfit, with gorgeous looking bare arms (really, they DO look perfect for my eye-nothing to be ashemed for!). Love all black for summer, with showing soe skin and pop of a color in the sandals! YLF, Deb!
