WIW: A dress a week August challenge week #4

We've reached the last weekend in August, alas. I've worn a dress this weekend that I bought at the BR sales this Summer. It is lined, and I plan to wear it with layers all through the year. I hope it will be as versatile as I think it is. Today I combined it with a coral/orange cardigan, the color is quite soft, and I hope the black/white/orange combo is okay with you ladies. Where I live, black and orange is not as much associated with Halloween as in the US, but it is still a dangerous place to go. I hope the amount of white balances this out and makes it less harsh.

It's been very fun to follow Mo's dress choices this month, and I'm looking forward to see what she's been up to this weekend! Any comments and suggestions regarding my ensemble are most welcome.

I LOVE this dress! And there is enough white to offset the black and orange. You look stunning!

I love this combo and agree with Deborah that there is enough white to offset the black and orange. Also, I think showing some skin makes it more wearable. If you were wearing the same colours with pants, the effect would be much more orange/black.

This is so pretty. I tried that dress on but it was horrible on me. I'm glad it works so well for you, and I really love it paired with coral. Coral is SO not a Halloween color that the thought didn't even cross my mind!

Love this on you! Simple, feminine, fresh and pretty. I think the softness of the orange color and the print of the dress keeps it far from Halloween territory.

You look so cute in the dress combos! It looks comfortable too. The cardigan looks melon to my eye. The color is really nice with your coloring. It softens the black and white a bit.

Jayne: I'm actually wearing two different pairs of Vagabond ballet flats in the photos: One in dark blue (navy) suede, and one in black leather. I bought the black ones yesterday - they've been on my shopping list for quite some time, and Vagabond flats are comfy enough for my feet without breaking the bank. I'm impressed that you noticed that they are suede!

A very classic silhouette that gets a lot of interest from the fresh color pairing and modern, bold, but not overwhelming print. Can't wait to see this one layered.
