I haven't posted a WIW in a while as I have been swamped at work these past couple of weeks. It turns out that taking a week off is an excellent way to quadruple your work load once you are back :). I have also done a little bit shopping, all very inexpensive ( to fit in my very small budget) very carefully chosen pieces to work with the styles and colors I am planning to concentrate on this fall. There are couple of such new pieces here, the sweater, jeans and booties, and more on them further down.

I do not own a leopard coat, but my red trench has a fun leopard linining, and I was inspired to put together an outfit very similar to the third version shown on today's blog post, where striped
top was pattern mixed with leopard and floral scarf. My version consists of BR cropped straight jeans and navy/rust striped sweater ( both recent clearance purchases), with leopard belt, Loft silk cat print scarf, new tan Report booties and the red trench. My pattern mix is striped, leopard and cat print instead of florals. I do not own a checked bag, so I went for mixed media color blocked navy/cognac satchel. I also have a plaid umbrella with some red in it as the chance of rain is pretty high.

My shopping priority for the season are three pairs of high shaft booties to wear with all the crops, I'd like black lace-up
Victorian, cool light neutral and warm
light neutral. I have found the last ones first, in the form of these little tan Report booties, which are very comfy, bookend my hair pretty well, fit my skinny ankles and are fairly inexpensive. The striped sweater and cat scarf are a way for me to wear a trendy warm color like rust that is pretty unflattering on its own: in pattern with my much better colors like navy and off-white.
