Woo-hoo! First morning in the new house! I had to be up at 5:30 to be out of the bathroom ahead of the electricians, who were due at 6:30. Then I fooled around on the computer drinking coffee until I ended up in a hurry, and when you're in a hurry, what better FFBO than a dress?

Dress: Veronica M
Black blazer: Halogen
Black pumps: Target
White belt: thrifted
Black and white tote: Steve Madden

I was kind of tickled with the black and white with the colorful print dress, but I realize it's not everybody's bag. I'll be interested to hear your honest reactions!

And in house news, I can't resist a few photos today:

1. Note the RAM board on the floor! We refinished the floors last week so the whole house is covered in it. Won't see the pretty floors again until the whole project is finished! Note also the ginormous TV to my left. I figured it was safest in the bedroom while waiting for the den to be ready to hang it on the wall. And after one night I feel like everybody should have a 70 inch TV in the bedroom! LOL

2. Here's my temporary hideout in the guest room. We put a padlock on the door so it's secure while I'm gone even with workers in the house. The closet is tiny so I bought my own wardrobe boxes and am keeping my clothes in them. (There are two more with winter clothes out in the garage! My shoes are on the back of the door in the hall closet, in the built-in drawers in the linen closet, and the boots are in a box in the garage.

3. The kitchen as of 5:30 this morning. The lamps are there because the lights haven't been wired up yet. I originally planned to re-do the kitchen too, but am so, so glad I decided to wait because it's great having it untouched (relatively speaking -- see "lights not wired up," above) while all the chaos is going on.

4. They started planting the front yard on Saturday!! Yay!! Low water landscaping featuring cactus, native flowering plants, and tangerine, lime, and Meyer lemon trees! A hummingbird has already laid claim to a little cluster of flowering bushes right in front of the porch -- I saw him twice yesterday!

5. And a last look at the Bachelorette Pad.
