WIW 7/25: Ink, Brown, Gray and Black

Another Friday, another genius ensemble idea from Angie's blog!! I had all these pieces in my closet and they are just perfect for wearing to work on what is expected to be another hot day!

Black cotton pencil skirt: Halogen

Gray linen blazer: Olivia Moon
Light cognac pumps: Nine West
Cognac satchel: Banana Republic

The funny thing is this is almost exactly what I wore yesterday, but the different colors make it seem very different, don't you agree?

MsMary, I was thinking about ordering one of those blazers. Do you think it is suitable for summer wear only, or would it work also for fall? Is it pretty lightweight? Are the sleeves kind of short (it looked like the sleeves were short in some of the model pics)?

This is a great interpretation of the ensemble! I like that ink and black create a column of low contrast color, lighter grey jacket adds a nice not too jarring contrast and that ocgnac bag and shoes echo each other.

Gigi, I plan to wear these blazers in the fall. The fabric is breathable but not super lightweight. It has a nice substantiality to it. Note that it runs small -- I had to size up to PL to get it to fit in the shoulders. The sleeves are bracelet or 3/4 length, which I love with my short little T-Rex arms! On somebody with longer arms they would be several inches above the wrist.

Thanks, MsMary. I did see from the Nordie's site that it runs small, which is why I thought it might be good for me. But I do have long arms for my size, so I might look a little ridiculous in a blazer with sleeves this length.

I always think 3/4 sleeves are good for any "non-standard" arm lengths. If sleeves tend to be too short on you, at least with 3/4 sleeves it's obvious the shorter sleeves were intentional, you know?

I urge you to at least give it a try!
