Hey blondie! You look great. Very cool outfit. Love the tonal blues here. Simple and elegant and modern. I love That's not My Age but don't relate to her personal style, check out Accidental Icon for interesting and edgy summer outfit inspo xxx

Deb: I read Lynn's blog and follow her (that's her name, correct?) on instagram too ! (AI). She even hearts and comments on the odd picture of mine in return which makes me inordinately pleased with myself.

I want to be even blonder still . I feel SO much more myself again.

I love your outfit. It is very elegant and the proportions look good. Elegant in summer heat is such a challenge. I tend to wear shorts and tees at home for most of summer and I get really, really sick of it. Honestly, it is almost a pleasure going to work in summer so that I can wear something more grown up.

I like this look a lot, and it seems very authentic to you. I always think of you as well dressed but I guess none of us post those average lounge at home outfits.

I love summer looks and find them much easier than winter ones, and feel more elegant and put together than in winter. Funny how we are different.

I love your hair blonde again. Good call.

I love this look! It's very much like the dress-over-jeans I've been loving this summer except on the hottest days. Honestly, I feel about my thighs the way you feel about your arms. I like my thighs from a muscular/strength/overall look point of view, but the skin is kind of 50-ish nad no longer taut and I really don't want to show it unless I am sitting on the beach. Hating shorts, etc. So when it's not unbearably hot I've been wearing my crops with tunics/dresses.

This tunic is KILLER. How is the pricing of this brand? It's very challenging around here to find interesting linen tunic/dress tops that aren't a million dollars. There is one brand that I absolutely covet (cannot think of the name), and one dress I want VERY BADLY for Mexico, and I may just run out and buy it, but it's summer only and it's going to set me back $200+. For a short linen nothing! Why is linen so expensive?????

What I really love about this whole look is that it manages to dance right on the edge of artsy without falling completely into dangerous territory. I won't get into it too much because of the risk of offending others, but as a fellow 50+ woman with short hair, I know that layered artsy looks with jewelry can look crazy if done wrong. This is brilliant. And welcome back, blondie. You look beautiful.

Gorgeous...hair and outfit.

The heat is getting me down, too. I'm so unmotivated to put on more than athletic shorts and a tank top at home, and they must be as loose as possible to avoid making me sweat any more than necessary. Blech.

Summer is just an odd season. I think it's a perfectly good summer look. Minimalist. I love the Freebirds.

Vivian - interestingly, this Bryn Walker line is quite moderately priced. The tunic was $140 I think - not bad, I agree. And I know exactly what you mean about the artsiness of linen tunics and then the slippery slope into crazy land. I think the jeans kept it from that. Note I didn't wear my glasses with the outfit either

And thanks for the blonde support - is was such a HUGE sigh of relief to see the old me in the mirror again.

You look very grownup, very nice. However (sorry) it does not look cool enough for me in that temp (mid 30s = 95F?). It's the jeans that look hot. It was 101F (38C) yesterday afternoon. I had a friend and her wiener dog over in the morning, did laundry, and went grocery shopping. I was only barely cool enough in a sleeveless top and lightweight cotton cropped pants.

That's a great look for you. Colours are good and the blonde looks good. I always get sun bleached blonde in the summer and it feels more like me too -if I go darker, I've always done so in the fall. Maybe something about the weather and colour palette makes darker feel off in the summer? (The dark did look good in you too, by the way)
Not being thrilled with anything touching my skin in hot weather, I tend to wear skirt and loose dresses more and have accumulated a few. I also like them better on me than shorts at this point in my life.

I love this - and the subdued blue really works with your colouring, as well as looking fresh, sophisticated and summer. And thise shoes - killer.

I find that wearing jeans under linen sort of defeats the purpose for me as the jeans make me so hot - but I can't think of what else to wear with linen tunics, so I don't wear them. How do you find it?

Also, I hear you on being sick of your summer look. You had talked int he spring about doing a golf skirt and top on hot days (which inspired me to buy one yesterday ) How is that working out?

Love this!!! I can't tell you how sick I am of seeing my own legs in shorts :/ But I really don't have an option ---- it's TOO hot for jeans. The only thing I can tolerate that covers more of my legs are cropped leggings....that's it! But I quite like the proportions here. And your hair looks fab!

maneera, jaileen, roxanne - these "jeans" are so lightweight that they are no different than any other light cotton pant. They are a super thin denim with a lot of stretch - totally comfortable. I haven't had a regular pair of jeans on since May, and I totally agree that they are too hot for the dog days of summer.

Roxanne - I wear the one golf/running skirt I have that still fits all the time - and I am SO sick of the sight of it too I have a grand total of ZERO coloured t-shirts or tanks in my wardrobe this year so the whole black skirt white tank thing is making me nuts. I never found a single t-shirt that I would wear in a colour at all this summer - odd eh?

What a great outfit!

Your outfit looks refreshing and I'd take that bracelet home in one second.
I'm still in an oversized nightgown? robe? It's 80 inside and I don't feel like moving. I've bought a few lighter weight items for summer and that is helping. We definitely have more scorching days here than we used to.

I'm hesitant to say this, but I loved the gray. I thought you looked striking, But I know what you mean about not feeling like yourself. I'm still surprised when I see my gray hair in the mirror. Originally I did extensive lowlights that lasted for months, and I always felt more like me after the cut and lowlights. But I don't like sitting in the chair, and the idea of doing it every 3 weeks sounds like torture. I do keep mulling it over.

Barbara Diane - I think you're thinking of Suz's hair? Mine has never been gray

@Lisap - light jeans?! What a find! A HEWI I never knew existed! Now I must find some.

And I hear you. I had a hard time finding the perfect tees too this year, and didn't end up with any colour either!

You are blonde again! I guess you knew that. Outfit looks great and I love the jewelry.

I love this look - and on you! (You look smashing in this with your accessories and blonde hair!) - and I love you/this post even more for articulating the moniker I am searching for - elegance fitting my age! (I think we are similar ages Lisa?). Anyhow, would love to see more ideas you come up with for this moniker - smashing as (I imagine!) Alyson would say!
PS did you see her latest list for a beach holiday - I was at that beach in Portugal in no time (sans bikini alas as I am not willowy)

Lisa I thought you looked lovely darker but I do prefer the blonde and yes I can see you going lighter than thus:). I may be biased but I hear you... I have tried other colours but never feel like me unless I'm blonde:). I thought you might read Accidental Icon:). I relate strongly to her style and like you, I'm very flattered that she takes time to like and comment on my posts... Don't know how she would have the time

Jenanded- I did see the beach post, which makes me want a kaftan ( as she spells it ) even more . What a great beach too ! Oh to live in Europe and the U.K. and be able to take quick inexpensive jaunts to places like that ! I'll keep you posted with any brilliant ideas

Deb- I can just imagine sitting in one of her classes too - she seems like such an interesting woman

Oh goodness - I wish I could look so cool and stylish in warm weather! This looks so great on you! And I am loving the blonde in your hair.

You look marvelous as usual. Likea the blonde hair. LOL from one blondie to another.
