WIW: 3.6.12 - pattern mix - YouLookFab Forum

Hi ladies

I knew I wanted to wear my Docs and new python skinnies (soon to be waxed! Yes, I'm copying Natalie and hoping for better results) but wasn't sure what to pair with them. This vest has been sitting in my closet, tags on, for about 1.5yrs. I think I like it! I figured the tonal look of the outfit kept the pattern mixing more subtle. I teach tonight so I hope it looks good!

Got a haircut this morning too. My stylist does a great cut, IMO but she styles it a little bit more sleekly than I prefer to. Sorry about the weird tense look. I do not do photos well. Alas!

Vest - Anthropology
Buttondown - J Crew (old and in need of replacement)
Jeans - Gap
Boots - 20 hole Docs
Also wearing my new necklace that I won here on YLF!
Bracelets - one is a former charm bracelet, two made by a friend, one by a former teacher

You made me log back in with your fab pattern mixed outfit. LOVE the whole shebang! The python skinnies are SO cool and I love the edgy jewelry, Docs and fabulous vest! You look amazing! I'd be hesitant to wax those jeans after reading about Natalie's experience--what with lint and all....

I wish I'd had a teacher as cool as you growing up! I think I'm going to hero-worship this new do and outfit for a bit :-p TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL!! And LOVE the stacked bracelets. So much texture that shines all the more for the lack of colour --- this is truly a tutorial on doing monochrome in super style!

Beth Ann - you make me laugh! I am so stiff when posing for pictures and the shovel was there so... Plus I had to get the snow off the deck. And the body.

ManidipaM - I went to art school, so creative teachers was a given. I did have to buy it, though I got it for cost at a trade show. But it's very cool and I will always remember her because of it!

I appreciate the comments a lot and didn't even put together "romantic", "equestrian" or "swashbuckling" but I love it and can totally see that now! I was all, "it's rock n roll on the bottom, business on the top". LOL

What a fantastic outfit, Andrea! You look amazing. I love the plaid with the python print, and the tonal colour palette with the crisp white is beautiful. Bracelets and necklace (fun to see it in action;-) really complete the look. And your hair is fab.

This is super cool and I would love to wear it. I love the slightly romantic feel of the flowy lines combined with all the tough elements. RIGHT up my alley, completely.

If I had this outfit in my "month of neutrals" travel capsule (that was supposed to be a 3 day travel capsule) I probably would not have got bored.

Brilliant! I bet you can also wear the vest open for a totally new look. The pattern mixing works perfectly. I like the way you have paired the feminine vest with the more tough and boyish Docs and bracelets.

But where are your dogs? Don't they try and get in the picture? Mine do.
