WIW 2/3: Adjacent Colors Day 5, orange/yellow Mrs. O copycat

Wow! This challenge has been super educational! I had a red/pink outfit planned for today, but I've learned this week that red and pink aren't adjacent colors at all -- pink is a tint, made by adding white to red. Who knew?

So I went to my closet and started ransacking it for something that was a true adjacent color combo. Found this wonderful photo of Mrs. Obama and realized I could duplicate it if I reversed the colors of the blouse and the jacket. I originally had it planned with brown pants, but when I pulled out the cobalt cords from the first YLF swap (*waving at rae*), the magic really happened! (There's that across-the-color-wheel thing again!)

I went out to lunch with my colleagues today and they kept saying "Wow! You are really bright today!" Which I chose to take as a compliment! LOL

(Re tints: on the wheel that I posted, for each primary and secondary colors it satellites out and includes a tint with white, and a tint with black. Part of the reason I love this wheel. It may help with visualizing )

Fabulocity! I love this combination on you! The colors are so bold, but the shapes are simple and pretty classic, so the overall look is fab, IMO.

Speaking of tints and shades, I am also wondering how this orange/yellow combo would look with dark navy pants or skirt as opposed to cobalt. I am thinking this would be a fun way to perk up some fairly conservative navy items.

Makrame, if I'd had navy pants I would totally have worn them!

Sad story: I ordered two pair of black pants and one pair of navy pants from Ann Taylor. I intended to return one of the black pair and keep the navy, but I mistakenly returned the navy and now they are gone from the store and online and I am navy-pants-less! *sob*
