Thanks, everyone! My last two purchases have turned out right, I think, and I'm very pleased.
Unfrumped, you are right, the fit was what finally sold it for me. I don't think any of my other pencils feel as great on, fit-wise.
Suz, I share your worries about belted coats, and I've tried many. Normally I feel like I'm wearing a terry cloth dressing gown in them, you know? This one is a bit different because the cut is very narrow in the sleeves and shoulders,so I get a defined line there. The belt can be left hanging, it can be tied in the back or around the waist, it stays put. I really like how it can be worn in many ways. An added bonus is a layer of Thinsulate that transforms it to a usable coat for my climate, even in winter. Finally, it got instant DH approval, so that was it, then, no need to look further. (I've put the checked coat in my holding zone, and it might still get a couple of outings - I find it hard to get rid of it straight away).
The coat is by Danish Samsoe & Samsoe, a brand I've never tried before, but I think they do casual chic quite well. The skirt is also Danish, by Whiite.
