WIW 15 02 23-27. A dark, cobalt week

Do you find your weeks go in themes? I guess this is part of the reason I like challenges. For some reason, last week was all about black and ink, with a wild shot of cobalt every once and a while. Put on your sunglasses!

1. Black and ink... AT vest, Zara top, and old ink trousers..
2. Black ponte pants, halogen tunic sweater. Funny fuzzy scarf thing. I wanted to be cozy!
3. EF dark cobalt cardigan, NYDJ leggings, BR top.
4. BR plaid shirt, Costco sweater, old mexx black trousers.
5. Again to be cozy... the Vince moto leggings, Lululemon cardigan, and BR scarf. More cobalt in the scarf...

So this was a lot of dark, and a lot of cobalt, but I was okay with that. It's just when I see them all lined up here that it seems a bit boring.

Anyone else lost in the bowels of winter dressing?

As always, suggestions for improvements, and any other comments are welcome!

Not boring. Black is beautiful!
#1 - love the necklace within some great black pieces
#2 - love the fuzzy scarf thang!
#3 - love the ink and the black. great length of the cardi.
#4 - I think the shirt could be more dramatic. Feels much saver then the other looks.
#5 - love the textures with the striped scarf. (possibly my favorite but I also am might choose #1)

Not boring at all, Elizabeth! Looking fab! I totally go in themes week by week, it seems. I tend to wear a piece to death, before it's related to laundry and I move onto the next. Grey jeans mostly one week, black jeggings mostly the next, etc etc. I love the first and third outfit especially. Beautiful pendant in the third outfit.

Nothing boring about these at all. Every one of these is interesting and SO striking with your haircolor. You look gorgeous in all of these!

AM, I think you nailed it with the "safe". This is how I used to dress, all the time, and what I refer to as my FFBO look. But I am realizing that I don't fall back to this nearly as much anymore, which is a good thing.

tr3kkie9rl, I know what you mean, and every time I see a pic I wonder why I'm keeping it. I do find the texture of the stripes photograph a bit weird, so make me look very thick and lumpy around my middle. It doesn't actually do this (as much anyway ) in real life. But point taken, it's not the best. I just love the colour.

For heaven's sake these are all really nice, nothing"lost" about any of them, my favorite is 3 which I love. My least favorite is 4, but only because the others are both bolder and so gracefully done, and that's so unusual to be both.

And even 4, the most conservative is so well done, I like the more neck rather than the more typical crew neck and that blue is fantastic on you.

Love all the inky darkness in #1, #3 and #5. They are elegant and not boring at all -- think of them as signature looks. A formula (of the best kind) varied subtly each time you wear it. The colors, especially with silver jewelry and the stripey scarf up top, are magnificent with your hair.

Last night I Was thinking of 'purging' the cobalt in my wardrobe. Today I was in the PATH (Toronto underground shopping city) and one of the Express windows for S/S is all black and cobalt (and stripes), and the Massimo Duttie window featured a manikin with cobalt capris, white shirt, cognac jacket and footwear.

Though blush and pastels seem to be trending, our favourite neutrals (black, white) and the old standbys of cobalt and red are still in evidence.

Yes! I do find myself on a this or that kick (e.g., corduroy skinnies, the color olive, long cardigans. . .), quite often. One thing will remind me of a similar item or look, and off I go on the theme. It makes perfect sense to me.
These outfits are all wonderful, Elizabeth! How can it be boring when you look so fantastic? I love the textures and rich, deep colors, and your beautiful use of accessories.

Gauche, I think my "inky darkness" HAS become a bit of a winter signature look for me this year. But I hadn't thought of it that way.

Thanks firecracker. I didn't feel boring, i just hadn't realized how similar each day was, colour wise, until I assembled this post. Wrong choice of word!

anyway, you've also made my rethink my cobalt --i was thinking that i sell or donate it this spring, but now i think i'll keep it.

Blue is so your colour Elizabeth:) It is just so flattering against your hair and skin tone. Each of these outfits is just fantastic. #1, #3 and #5 get special mentioned but honestly they are all fabulous! You have so hit your stride of late.

BTW have the skirted leggings arrived yet?

I'm late to this and it's all been said already, but I'll echo the others. This is such a flattering colour palette for you. My particular favourites are #3 (lovely necklaces, height of V of tee, position of cardi collar - just all works well together) and #1 (contrast of your chain against the dark pieces). Fab!
