Inspired by a couple of Angie's recent posts (pullover with a pencil skirt, layering), I decided I was bound and determined to make this layering thing work. Other people on the forum helped push me, as I realized I wasn't the only one who struggled with this, and also helped me realize that proportion was where most of my trouble lies.

This white button down tunic/shirt has been a closet orphan. I got it a couple of years ago, and was so excited to find one that FIT! But I struggled with it because it has slightly strange hem detailing, and I couldn't really make it work. I often thought I should just cut it off, but never got to it.

So enter the layering concept, and my broad shoulders, which require more length in my tops so that I don't look square. Out comes the tunic.

And here is the result. I have to say, I felt great. I hope it looks good too :). But please, I'd love to hear anything you have to say from "what were you thinking" to tweaks for improvement.

Oh, and bare legs!!!! Weird weather we're having here ... I hope it doesn't look seasonally confused.

I also realize I need more sweaters like this. I love the proportion of it on me, ie long enough, it has a bit of weight yet is still fluid. So - a hole identified!
