Here is a WIW from me after a bit of a break. I have been taking photos of my outfits fairly regularly, I just don't get to post them (super busy at work), so I will try to do some catch-up over the next few weeks.

Today's ensemble was absolutely perfect for my hectic day which included: a very early doctor's appointment at a fairly remote office that required lots of public transport and waiting for buses in freezing condition, then a mid-day work holiday parry at work, followed by another, much quicker doctor's appointment, and finished by a second, different work holiday party. Between wanting to stay warm and look somewhat festive at work, the grey-ish BR faux fur vest was the perfect solution.

I went for the fairly simple column of black under the vest in the form of AT black merino sweater with ruffle cuffs and black coated WHBM skinny jeans. A little bit of glitz was added by the pewter ET booties, silver MJ watch and velvet-rhinestone choker - chokers are the only type of necklace that does not disappear under the vest as they are worn above the vest. Since it was freezing outside I wore my off-white Uniqlo puffer that is half a size too big in the body and thus perfect for wearing over bulkier items such as the furry best, cream cashmere scarf, cream cashmere beanie with faux fur pom pom and black mot RM hobo. The bag was chosen for functionality to accommodate, among others, carrying of some home baked treats I was bringing to the first holiday party at work, which was a potluck. You can see the sampling of the treats in #3, they are Pecan Praline Blondies and (Eastern European) Chocolate Walnut Bars.

I am going to finish this with a note that I find it very useful to own outerwear (wool coats and puffers) in different fits. I prefer fairly tailored and sleek coats/jackets and that is how most of my outerwear pieces are, but a few slightly looser (about half-a- size) coats (in the body, not shoulders) work great for layering over bulky items such as furry vests or leather jackets, and I also have a very fitted wool coat with faux fur that serves to be worn over fancy cocktail dresses for nicer social occasions. I sometimes get frustrated that the latter two categories do not work well with most of my normal outfits, but have to keep reminding myself than not everything can work with and for everything.
