Today I wore the second dress I thrifted yesterday. It is a green knit sleeveless dress with a high-low hem, very fun. I wore it earlier with gray tights and a matching gray long sleeves top and it is very cute. But later today I tried this other, more risky combination. What do you think?

I am wearing a summer sheer silk polka dot blouse underneath, and tights with similar colour motif (and my Joseph Siebel booties). I added a scarf that I normally wear with a summer palette, and a violet core shell jacket. It is thin but surprisingly warm.

Today was a blah day outside, rain, cold and dreary.

I am going out of my comfort zone in terms of colour and texture pairing here... but am not sure of the result. Well, I liked it enough to go out with it.

What do you think? Do YOU think it goes together or not? Is it a direction I should be taking?

I love this sweaterdress, but I think the blouse is too light with the solid feel of the dress. Tights are great with it.

I'd love to offer feedback, but I can't see the outfit that well! It looks good from what I can see. I think that the fact that you wore a more sheer textured tight with it helps tie in the lighter shirt. I wish I had a better idea of the texture and weight of the dress, though. If it is a pretty heavy knit, then I'm not sure that the pairing is going to work. If the knit is a really fine gauge, the I could totally see it working!

I think this looks very funky. I personally enjoy the contrast of the heavy-ish knit dress with the more delicate flowy blouse particularly because it is not the 'logical' choice for layering under such a dress. This is a creative look. The tights add some fun. I like a lot.

Okay, I am having a hard time commenting on your outfit because I am so taken with your glowing, beautiful face! Your skin is so happy these days!

The dress: Love it. Love it with the tights, too, and surprisingly (for me) I even like it with the light blouse. Oftentimes I am a stickler for that, not wanting to pair a heavy fabric with a light. But in this case, the blouse reads almost as an extension of the scarf to me....the light "underlayer" that the dress and jacket complete. In fact, the dress is almost like a "vest" on top of the blouse.

Of course it is difficult to tell from a photo alone, but from that photo, I think it works.

The booties are superb with the dress. Just perfect. I was trying mine on again today and i remain so grateful for the recommendation. Did you see that KathyL and Glory also got them? You started a trend and can be proud of yourself!

I like the blouse but I think I would LOVE this dress with higher contrast. Red perhaps or a bright teal. I think the tights and boots are perfect.

K can shop: I agree, the lighting is not the best there. I had to beg my photographer to take pics real quick, but the next time I'll pay attention to this. You'll see the dress from close. It's actually quite is a heavy knit.

Yes, the dress really feels like a sleeveless cardi over anything I wear it with, which is precisely what made me buy it. It love this type of combo for winter dressing, in our climate. About the booties, I'm glad others discovered them too. But the true starter of this trend is my mother!
