My emotions were all over the place this morning when I got dressed. I was determined to banish the blues, so I threw on a hectically colorful top. At the same time, I felt like I needed lots of structure to bolster my forced cheerfulness so threw on the black jacket and trousers. The blue booties were an afterthought. I'm not sure if this outfit is successful or not, but it got me through the day.

What I am sure of, though, is that YLF is a generous and supportive community. I don't think I would have made it through this week with my chin up if it weren't for your support.

I've got some REALLY good news to share! I confronted management today and explained to them that the review process had been demoralizing and that I didn't feel as if I had any concrete things I could do to improve in the future.

The amazing thing is they actually listened to me. They shredded my first evaluation form and rewrote it using my suggestions. It turned out to be a lot more useful for my development and helped reassure me that I was on the right track. In addition, they will be changing the entire review process next year. Some of the changes were due to my feedback, particularly when it comes to what kinds of critique are constructive.

Chalk one up for the little guy today.
