Hello all,

I have not been around the forum much the last week for a variety of reasons, mostly good. So I have a couple of outfits to share.

It is the end of the NZ winter this month, whilst spring can be lovely, it can be a season of frustration here too with wind and squally showers. Today the sun is shining, I can see magnolias and cherry blossom so all is well.

For August I was trying to wear my orphans, in particular dresses. I have mostly achieved this, and as I am rather sick of my winter clothes it was good to try a couple of other things, although the results were mixed.

The first look is a pink dress, bought on consignment, that I asked the forum for advice on last year. I could not quite get rid of it then, but after wearing for a day, I am ready to do so. I almost love it, but it is a little clingy/thin and I did not feel right in it. Off to the thrift shop the pink dress goes. Our cat Batman also features (Batman is a girl too in case you did not know!). And excuse the random kitchen bits and pieces on the bench. I have so much to learn about selfies.

Secondly I wore a black crop jacket that I bought for DH's 40th, almost 8 years ago. It was worn a heck of a lot, but not so much lately. I paired it with a woven tunic which I also used to wear a lot, with crop leggings, jeans, and even over a swimsuit. I was interested in the proportions of the look. Firstly I wore with flat boots and disliked it but with the heels I felt it improved. Both the tunic and jacket will live on for a while yet...unless I am strongly advised otherwise. I don't think I will wear them together again though, I think the jacket is too dressy for the tunic. You can see our new entrance wallpaper too.

I got my hair cut and coloured today, and so a quick selfie of this. Yesterday I bought some new sunglasses to complement my Aviator ones that are very very well used. Loving the glasses and always so nice when the stylist can do the hair.

Lastly two pics of myself before and after the Tough Girl Challenge. 6km through water, mud, hills, electric shocks and clambering over and under obstacles. Lots of fun with great friends- escaping the routine for a day and a half. We wore silly moustaches and tee-shirts, some people were MUCH more elaborate.

Feedback is welcomed, positive or negative.

Thanks for looking.
