Like IK, I was very excited this week to finally have the chance to wear coats. I thrifted this vintage Dereta pink coat last April and this is the first chance I have had to wear it.

The red booties were my thrifted thrill last week - they are Tony Mora red python cowboy booties, fit like a dream, and, well, did I say red python booties?

Final thrifted item - blue vintage YSL cross body bag. I wore this for a Chanukah candle lighting and meal with friends who are not interested in fashion, but I was thrilled.

Shevia, you look spectacular -- just like a lit up menorah! So vivid and bright. What a stunning outfit for you. LOVE you in this pink (although it reads almost red on my screen). I would love to know the texture of the coat.

The bag is gorgeous, so crisp and structured.

and the BOOTS!! Those are the find of the year. Absolutely gorgeous. (No wonder you are enabling me to order snakeskin booties...now I get it!)

You remind me of a slightly RATE Jackie O in these photos. Stunning.

I am blushing the color of my coat with the Jackie O references. I have a secret regarding that - about 20 years ago I was wandering around lower Manhattan when a tall handsome stranger came up to me and said "of course you must hear this all the time, but you look like Jackie O". And to give you some insight into my social grace in such matters, I stammered and sputtered and told him, no, I certainly had not heard that before and walked away. I am horrible! And such a great compliment I still remember it. Anyway thank you for sharing my excitement about my thrifted goodies - not everyone's cup of tea, but lots of fun for me!
Oh and Suz - I think my love of the SE's made finding these all the more sweet.

This outfit is right up my alley, casual - minimal. Love the coat, boots and the new bag. You unquestionably have the best thrift sources in the entire world. I cannot believe you can score YSL at a thrift store. Happy Hanukkah!

Cocolion, I do live near some unbelievable thrift stores, but more than that I just don't face much competition in the category of vintage, non-local brands. My fellow shoppers tend to go for local, new clothes, which is usually the least interesting stuff there.

Mochi and Sona, I am interested that this looks modern to you . The coat is from the 50s or 60s as far as I can tell, although it appears to have been never worn. The bag is also vintage vinyl (another reason no one else took it - not leather). The boots are cowboy style, which I think is sort of timeless, but not necessarily current. Altogether I am happy you think it comes off as modern - although I guess I would wear it anyway.

That is one happy coat, and I adore a happy outercoat. My wool coat is bright yellow! Fun shoes too, lovely contrast with the neutral outfit.
