WIW - Earthy casual dress formula with a new black dress

This my outfit from yesterday, the weather was very hot and humid, and I had to go to work where we had no AC due to recent bad storm in the DC area.

I tried to interpret Angie's earthy casual dress formula as close as possible, as I found the perfect dress for it at the Rack when I went to look for the BF jeans. The dress was a bit pricey for a knit dress as it is by Theory but I fell in love with the asymmetrical hem and very light and comfy material and had to have it.

Black jersey dress - Theory, tan leather belt - Zara, brown leather wedge sandals - La Redoute, polka dot bag - Aldo, straw hat - Nordstrom Rack

I love the dress on you but then with your fantastic figure, its hard to find anything that looks bad , I am sure! I do wish I could wear these kind of styles(alas, I always look like I am 5 years old wearing my mom's dresses) so I am jealous! oh, well, c'est la vie...

Wonderful, Tanya! I was in this "formula" today, too, and found it very easy to wear. Sure wish I had thought to wear a hat! The hem really gives this dress a modern, distinctive look, and the bag is chic touch as well!

This black dress was a great investment, Tanya, it's stunning on you. I love this entire look, relaxed and a little retro with your straw hat and polka dot bag. Fab & fun!

The draping on that dress is lovely! I adore the combination with the straw hat and dotty purse - quite polished.

ManidipaM, sadly this particular dress does not come in any other colors. But I will keep my eyes open for something similar in a bright, happy color.
