WIW - crops, maxi skirt, chambray, wrap dress

Hi all! We just got back from a short vacation to visit the Grand Canyon. We went with another family and rented a cabin together. Super fun but I took no outfit photos. Here are a few outfits from before we left.

#1 - I've had this shirt forever but the pants and shoes are new. Something seems off but I'm not sure what. Maybe the pants should have been rolled to be a touch shorter? Maybe a heel?

#2 - I've had this skirt forever and still love the colors and pattern although I don't wear it much.

#3 - Chambray dress with leopard print flats.

#4 - Wrap dress with flat boots. I usually wear this dress with heels but actually had on a different dress that I decided was too short without tights (it was too warm for tights) so quickly changed to this without changing shoes.

#5 - DH and me at the Grand Canyon.

Hi Sara! Oh, the Grand Canyon is such a magical place! We were there in the late winter years ago when our girls were little. There was almost no one else visiting at that time of year, and it was just glorious! I hope you had a wonderful time. I love the picture of you and DH.

I agree that it would be nice if your pants had a bit of a higher roll so that we could see the pretty straps of your shoes and a little ankle skin. I think that would really help that look. The purple top is a stunning color.

I also love the wrap dress with the tall flat boots! I think the two balance each other really nicely - sort of body con and more conservative. They play together well.

I like the chambray dress too. What if you tried a little scarf at the neck instead of the necklace next time? You look so good in color it might be nice to have a strong burst of color right by your face.

I agree with Viva, maybe the pants could be a little shorter. I actually love the outfit though, I think it is vibrant and fun.

I also think the chambray could look great with a bold colour near your face. I could see red or pink or yellow - I love the dress and wish I could wear dresses like this.

It is always fun to pull out an old favourite skirt - nice to mix it up.

We almost got the Grand Canyon but....we were in the US during the Federal shutdown when all the National Parks were closed. So we only went as far as Sedona and then headed South to Wichenburg and San Diego. We wanted to hike and there was no way we could do that. We were so disappointed as you can imagine.

Jon had a conference in Scottswood the following year and his friend from Oklahoma met him and they did a weekend up at the Canyon and also Antelope Canyon.

The Grand Canyon! This must be the time to go. We were there in early summer and it was much to hot to do anything.
#3 is my favorite of the outfits. Lovely to get glimpses of your your kitty.

You look great in the print dress and the purple top is a beautiful color on you. I would play around with the pants length and shoe choice. Love the picture with your husband!

Well, #1 is my favorite! Love the color and how the black high-contrast X at the ankle echos the soft knot X of the top.

The rest are really fun, too. The neckline in #2 is incredibly flattering on you!

Sally - That's terrible that the parks were closed when you were here! I remember when that happened and feeling so bad for people that had traveled long distances and then couldn't see the sights they had planned on.

The weather was perfect this time of year. It was in the low 70's. It got breezy in the afternoon but we left around 2:30-ish. We had 6 kids between the two families and the youngest 3 still take afternoon naps so were getting cranky.
