WIW - Belated Picassos - YouLookFab Forum

I've been too busy to do more than pop by briefly the past couple of weeks, but I've been slowly working my way through the Picasso challenge. Even though I haven't been contributing much, I wanted to post these before it was (much much) too late.

Outfit 1: Young Girl Reading a Book on the Beach
I've inverted the colors a bit, in that I feel the chambray shirt is the focus and the neutrals are in the background/accessories.
Top: Loft, Jeans: Lucky Brand, Booties: Munro

Outfit 2: The Charnel House
Worn for an early spring day to work, just after I'd gotten my hair cut. It was my first time with a new stylist and he went a bit shorter than planned. But it's starting to grow in now!
Tee: JCrew, Jacket: Danier, Track Pants: Eileen Fisher, Oxfords: Clarks Originals

Outift 3: The Acrobat
Worn for one of the first truly nice spring days for a day of running around outside (although not very acrobatically). These harem pants are a cotton and linen blend that move well and I think (hope) look much better in person.
Tee: Gap, Pants: Urban Outfitters, Sandals: Birkenstocks, Bag: Marc by MJ

Outfit 4: The Dream
I stuggled with this one because I don't have a ton of high-color items in my wardrobe any more. But I tried to mirror the bright colors in the accessories (shoes, bag) and hope the blue and white came through in this striped shirt.

Thanks for sharing, I only did two of the challenges, it was fun though!
I especially like The Charnel House outfit here. Love the jacket and scarf combination, lovely textures.

I like all of this interpretations very much, and the outfits look great on you. I think my favorite is Young Girl Reading a Book on the Beach with the chambray shirt.

I've so enjoyed seeing the creative way people bring these paintings into their daily life. I particularly like the second outfit -- the jacket and scarf bring such warmth and light to your face. I also think the slice of yellow in your bag is fab!

These are all really nice. I had problems with the bright colored paintings as well. I like your choice of colored accessories.

Sara, thank you! And I'm glad I'm not the only one who struggles with brights. I honestly didn't realize I had gotten rid of so many of them until I saw the challenge.

Great job on the challenge, especially when you were busy! These are all terrific outfits and I like how they echo the paintings with color. My favorites on you are 5 and 3. You wear those slouchy pants so well, both outfits are the epitome of casual, hip and chic, and I'm really liking the creamy hues on you!

Thimbelina, you can always do one or two and not (as Rachy said) get it all in there. But thanks for the comment about color balance. Some of these combos are new/different for for, so I appreaciate the insight.
