WImightW Fun with fashion week

This might be my goofiest post ever. I was feeling a bit blah so tried to amuse myself by shopping my closet based on fashion week looks.

#1/2 I was so excited by all the culottes on the runway. This one is Elizabeth and James. Obviously my culottes (to say nothing of me) are more voluminous than the model but I knew I had the top with the diagonal stripe so had to try to get the effect.

#3/4 This is all about the color palette although I would love to own those pink culottes! Inspiration shot is Opening Ceremony.

#5/6 Inspiration shot is Temperly London. Now obviously the big jacket/scarf/topper thing is the most striking here, but let's just say it's too hot here for anything like that. I zeroed in on the cropped pants, white top and white sneakers instead.

What do you think? Would you wear any of these? How would you change them? Anyone else want to try to play along?

I would love to play, but can't this week....actually, it is hard for me to play on any week because by the time the shows happen, the weather has turned here and I've switched my closet out. Still, I could try for autumnal versions....will see what I can do.

Wonderful interpretations of fashion week looks! I love them all! I am amazed by your adaptations...when I see looks I love I fall in the trap of being too literal, "how do I get this look EXACTLY". I love how your interpretations keep the feel of the look but are your own style. Nicely done

Thank you all for your comments! Interesting that most likes the first and last - I actually think the middle one best captures the idea of the inspiration shot, which I think Angie also saw. But I am definitely least likely to actually wear that one (although I don't rule it out!).

ETA - what a wonderful idea Una, let's all bring contributions to the cruise!

I love your interpretations of all of these! Really creative and fun.

The only change I can think of is that I kind of want to see #4 either with the pants rolled up a little higher or with shoes with more of a heel. Which seems to be more a sign of how my eye for nonconventional proportions isn't the greatest than an actual useful comment, so feel free to ignore me.

You did beautifully here -- the first and last looks are particularly stunning. As for the second look -- you have used the inspiration photo so well. Still, I wonder about a different, more structured bottom? Either black skirt or trousers? The inspiration photo has volume, but more angular crispness in the fabrics if that makes sense? I'm being insanely picky, but I really like the overall look, and could see you wearing this color combo more!
