Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

Will this work as a military jacket?

Just bought this today...is it too trendy? Will it work as a military jacket and if so, is it a one season wonder or can I wear it for several years? Please be totally honest!

Thanks!

It looks military to me x

Yes--it definitely has that military vibe, with twill fabric, frogs, and silver-colored buttons, and it looks like a lot of fun to wear. It may keep your interest for only a few seasons, but at a Forever 21 price, you can afford to indulge yourself in a trend!

This is the typical military jacket, its lovely and this is the season to wear it but I don't know if the trend will last several years..

Well I was about to return it today bc it is not my usual look! But I really like how tailored it is and how it 'crisps' up a simple tee and jeans which is about all I get to wear. Okay, pictures to come! Thanks for all the help!

I’ve been wearing military jackets virtually every season for 25 years whether they’ve been trending or not. I love the look, it loves me back. I will always have a military jacket in my wardrobe. Get the jacket!

Angie, Thank you! I feel it is a keeper having your seal of approval and so many stylish others on here....I tried it on tonight with my grandmother's pearls I just inherited (thin smaller sized) and a white tee and dark jeans. It felt really fun and I'm excited to wear it! Pictures to come - promise!

Oooh, I like it. I love the idea of dressing as a bellhop. Fun!

Though they are in style now, I feel the military jacket is a classic -- I remember coveting one in Italy about five years ago. If you like this look, and I do, you can't go wrong.

Medusa - see, the fact that is does say 'bellhop' is what scares me! my husband saw it and started singing 'Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Heart Club'. It is definitely more edgy than anything I would usually go for.

Agrace, can you try it with some outfits at home, post photos, and return it if it seems too edgy for you? Maybe we can talk you into it...... :-)
