Why do I like this outfit co much?

For some reason I am really attracted to this skirt outfit from JCrew "looks".
I wonder if monochromatic color scheme is one of the main components which makes it so appealing...or is it something else...or is it just me and there is nothing special about it?

It could be the monochromatic color scheme or the sporty luxe nature of it. I like the short-sleeved sweatshirt with the dressier skirt and shoes and can picture you in something similar.

Well, Sveta, it looks so very You. The slouchy fit of the sweater and perfect semi-tuck, the menswear vibe of the skirt, the pretty pumps to add a feminine touch. And the color, taupe. I can see it all on you in a heartbeat.

Yes it might be all the juxtapositions. Sporty top with girly shoes and serious skirt. You would rock this.

I think the perfectly tailored inverted pleat skirt with the sporty rolled-sleeve top is a very appealing juxtaposition. To me, the neutral colors keep the interest on the shapes and cut of the garments.

It's a not too voluminous volume on volume look. The skirt silhouette is so fresh after either pencil or skater minis for so long! And yes Sveta, you would rock it.

This is fresh and stunning. I love the classic inverted pleat A-line skirt --- I'm ready to see this silhouette return. It's ladylike, but also made for business. The boxy top is insouciant and modern. The shoes look amazing, but a little pinchy in the toe!

Ha! I've been admiring this for the last week too. For me it's mainly the skirt silhouette, I love that style. Pairing it with the fun sporty pullover makes it feel very 2014, which I love as well.
If the skirt were a bit longer, I'd be very tempted.
Also: in the product shots the colour looks darker than on the model. And it also comes in black and navy (tempting;-)

It's definitely chic in my book. I can see you in it. It's an outfit of juxtapositions, which keeps things interesting - handsome/pretty, formal/casual.

You like this outfit so much Sveta - because it is your slouchy trousers in a skirt form! I think that this skirt and top would look so good on you! Better than the model - but then, that's not a surprise, because I've always said that you should be a model!

I love this kind of thing: taking a simple outfit that appeals to you and picking apart why that is.

I do agree that this outfit seems like something I would see you post in a WIW, Sveta. It seems that you do a lot of combining of tailored pieces and casual pieces, and this outfit does just that.

Firecracker, Una, Marley - I think you hit the nail on the head: I think it is the "trouser" vibe of the skirt which makes it so appealing to my style sense.
Windchime, Shevia, Gracie, AJ, lisap - you are right that this outfit has a bit of sporty (and more of luxe) about it. I think this is the only type of sporty luxe outfit (little sporty, a lot of luxe) I can see myself wearing.
Claire, I agree that the skirt silhouette feels fresh and it may be a part of the appeal.
