There's something close at espritshop in the jackets section. I can never get the links to work right for esprit. I don't know that I'd call it a safari jacket though and it's long sleeve. It's called "paper twill blazer."

They are ALL great styles, Ana. Predictably, I love a girl in a cheeky white jacket (as long as it doesn’t look like a lab coat).

I was wearing my denim pencil skirt today and on a whim I tried the jacket on with it, and it looked really sharp. I realized at that moment I needed a white shorter sleeve spring/summer style jacket, because I wear alot of denim, and it just looks very crisp and nice. I would get a lot of use out of it. Should I continue to look at this "safari style" (I really like the Michel Kors jacket) or will it be passe by next year? If I spend $200 on a jacket, I'd like to be able to wear it more than one year.

P.S. Patience, I looked at the paper twill jacket, and I really like it, but I'd like a shorter sleeve jacket to wear in warmer weather. Thank you though! :)

Ana, I don't blame you about the heat. The truth is I ordered some shorts at esprit and went for the jacket too to see what it looks like. I'm not sure that I'll keep it, but I wouldn't mind a nice white jacket myself. I understand if you're set on a safari style but you might also consider a short sleeve blazer style (which I am also considering) like the ATL one Julia and Shiny got or the one I saw at Express which is similar.

I wouldn't mind that style either, Patience. I just have to make sure it doesn't have cap sleeves. The one at Express has little cap sleeves and those don't work well for me because I have big shoulders and upper arms. I look like I'm wearing a little dwarf jacket, hee hee. :D

Let us know how the Esprit jacket works!

Ooohh, I really like the AT one! Definitely not safari, but still kind of trendy with the lantern sleeves. You couldn't belt it though, if that's what your after. I may have to look into this one...especially since it's machine washable! :)

Those both look nice. I think I'm looking or something a little "cleaner." Either safari style or the more traditional blazer style with a true short or elbow length sleeve. The BR is nice, but it's linen, and I'm just no good with linen--I get it all wrinkly in about 2 minutes.

I've been looking for something like that too (I'm a southerner as well and long sleeves don't work for me after March and not until October). The only one I've seen is the one mentioned above that shiny and Julia own.

Is it the belting that you like on the safari style coats?

Yeah, the belting really appeals to me. I could definitely belt a more simple blazer style as well. The safari is crisp, yet still feels casual to me, like the style will go with a lot things I own. And the belt is obviously already worked into the style.

The halogen jacket is a definite possibility. I wonder how it would look with shortened sleeves...

I agree about the linen. I was wondering if the blend with silk might help though. I might have to check it out in person. I think I'm starting to see you in the Michael Kors jacket. :)

Ok, this has almost everything you're talking about. It's white, it's got elbow sleeves, it's no linen (it's cotton/spandex) It's not ridiculously priced. What it doesn't have is a belt, but it does have a built in belted look. And it's not a safari style. I think it's a little more classic.

I can see the LaROK 'French Army' Jacket have your name all over it Ana! The pose and expression of the model look just like you. :) $300 is too much though IMO.

Thanks for the responses, everyone! I am going to go and try all of them tomorrow (MK Safari one, the halogen one and the one Nicole posted) and see how they fit.

I personally like the Mk one the best, but then I'm biased since I love safari jackets!
