My parents gave me this white porcelain bead necklace when I was in college in the 1980s. I used to wear them as a single strand or wrapped around my wrist as a bracelet. Unfortunately one day I hit my wrist hard on something and broke the necklace. It's been sitting in my jewelry box for a few years now. I keep thinking that I should get it fixed, but I'm not sure if it's a classic bead necklace that I can wear for years -- or if it's an 1980s look that I need to avoid. Because it is knotted like a pearl necklace, it will cost $30-$40 to re-knot, which is why I want to be sure before I spend the money.
