White pants conundrum

I bought a pair of white pants that are linen/cotton blend with an acetate lining. They say dry clean only. My dry cleaner has told me that dry cleaning makes whites dingy and to launder when possible. Do I need to try a different dry cleaner or can I launder them at the dry cleaners? Or are these pants too impractical? Is it really true that dry cleaning makes whites less white?

There is an element of truth to this statement. Have your cleaner launder them instead?
