White dresses

Patience

I like white and I admire all white dresses. But I'm always hesitant to commit to an all white day dress because it seems like it would be too.. well white. Are my instincts good on this or are there ways to make a white day dress work?

but I just have this nagging feeling that a pregnant woman in a white dress is a particularly bad idea.)

I say why not? White is a fantastic color on you with your lovely skin and hair colors. It seems like you could try that dress alone or with cropped leggings (you were saying you wanted to try cropped leggings with something more structured).
I'm wanting a white dress myself, but the one I saw that I loved was way out of my price range (the one we saw at By George).

I *love* white dresses and own three (oddly enough, all by Pink Tartan). I think they look clean and crisp, and are a nice look in the summer. I would go for it!

The stylist that I met in the shoe dept. at NAS part one was wearing a white dress. However, hers was more boho than the one you are considering. She was wearing it with dark tan flat thong sandals, a camel YSL leather bag, and a gold watch. She wore her shoulder length hair curly. I thought that she looked nice and fresh for summer.

The dress is lovely and if you feel that is too much white combine it with a color cardigan or colorful shoes and bag

All of you are such enablers! The dress is on my list but I've promised myself not to buy a thing until I get through NAS. Although at the rate everyone is disappointed in the shoe selection, I'm starting to doubt whether there will be any great finds for me this year. At least I have something to measure up. I guess they other problem with white is stains/spills.

I love that dress!! I would be worried about the high maintenance, I do not care for having to be so careful when I am out and about. If it was for special occasions then I would reconsider. It would look so good on you! I think it depends on lifestyle but as far as style and color it is stunning. i think white is so dramatic because so few people wear it in a whole outfit because of the care. That makes it more unique. I can see how a retail person could wear white, not much dirt at Nordstroms!

After hearing Angie say a couple of times that she likes me in white, I set out to buy a white dress and finally found one at J Crew awhile back. I wore it earlier this week and am going to post a photo of it soon. Mine is a casual dress in 100% cotton and I have worn with a teal short sleeved cardigan. I love how summery I feel wearing it - I wore it with some gold jewelry which I use so infrequently these days and I loved that combo! I know that alot of people are hesitant to wear white because of the cleanup factor (especially when you have kids) but since it's white, I can whip out that clorox bleach pen and take care of any little spots!

Wow! Your dress looks nice! I couldn't afford that much, so I went to GoodOrient.com for mine:

It costs me $199.98 and shipping, and I received it. It's surprisingly great, considering how much I have paid for it! Material feels great; the dress feels solid, nothing flimsy. They have a lot of designs but somehow this one catches my fancy the most. Anyone else want to share where they got their's from?
