Which oxford?

I've been mulling over the idea of adding a low-heeled oxford to my shoe collection and I've found two possible options that both look appealing and are within the price range I've been considering:

1. Nicole Heeled Oxford in Gunmetal. This is actually the same brand as the adorable booties that Kristen just purchased, so I'm hoping they would be every bit as comfortable.

2. Steve Madden Harah Oxford in Grey Leather - really more of a creamy white from what it looks like.

My thought is that the Nicole pair would be more versatile due to the color, but I'm not sure. Are either of them a good option for me?

Thye both look great but agree the colour of the first pair would perhaps get more use x

Kari -- what is your size? I bought a pair of new-in-box Clark's Indigo black heeled oxfords on eBay, and they don't work for my foot. No returns on eBay. I would be glad to pass them along to someone who could use them, though.

They have only been worn as long as it took to try them on and curse myself for not finding a pair to try on IRL before buying. Never been out of the house.

The size is 7, but they are more like a 6.5. The eBay notice announced that, and it was correct. Style is Wembley, here they are in brown: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/p/7416308/c/90532.html

Ooh, tough one. I agree that the first pair would be more versatile in terms of colour, but I prefer the styling of the second pair. Not helpful, I know. Sorry!

I also like the styling on the second pair - the pointy, sort of up-turned toe on the first pair is a little strange to me. How about the second pair in the cognac color? That would be a more versatile although I really like the light gray color as well - it might be just the thing for spring!

I think you should order both and play around in your closet. Comfort will sell the right style to you.

I think these booties have different character. The first one is more structured (or defined?) and looks more comfortable. The second one is more elegant and romantic in a masculine way. There's room for both in a closet as they could be styled differently. I can imagine the second one with a flowery flowing tea dress ad the first one with denim pencil skirts, etc. What kind of look are you after with it?

Oh, April, I SO wish I could take you up on your offer - your booties are beautiful and I LOVE Clarks. Unfortunately, my shoe size is an 8 or 8 1/2. I appreciate you mentioning them, though. I hope you can find someone else here who can give them a good home - I know there are many other YLF members that are around a size 6.5.

Thank you to all of you for the great feedback you've brought up. Legacy of Pearl, that's an especially good point that they might have very different looks - I think the gunmetal pair seems to be a bit lower vamp and might work better with skirts.

I took a chance and ordered both since it's free overnight shipping and free returns anyway, so I'll test them out over the weekend and probably return for a second, more extensive round of opinions.

April, I am of course no help as I can't wear 3" heels. But you may want to start a new thread with the shoes, or try reselling them on ebay.
