Packing my overnight bag for a call shift and need to finalize my outfit for church tomorrow. For the 3rd Sunday in Advent the color is pink, which allows me to play around with something different. (I suspect no one at our new church knows or cares, this is just for me.)

Concept inspired by the ROG, which reminded me I have this top from my sister: slinky, colourful, and sparkly, everything she is and I am not, yet somehow it works. Also an excuse to wear my winter white skirt and cream high shaft booties, a combo not worn since fall. I'm not on the platform singing (kids Christmas program) so I can get away with sitting shoes, a hat, something more out-there.

The ROG paired this with a black jacket; simple. I have 3, all slightly different shapes. Which gives the right proportions?

1. Possibly the best IRL? Slim straight wool with velvet collar.

2. Shortest and slightly boxy. But not shorter than the top. I didn't like this but included for completeness.

3. Longer fitted jacket.

4. The top on its own.

5. The wild card, this pink and plum Chanel style jacket is what I planned to wear before I remembered the floral top and saw the ROG with black. It does give the short over long, but is it too much going on?

6. Please forgive the poor lighting, sloppy photos, and puffy updo. I realized I need the usual amount of hair on top to bookend all the white below, so for that proportion, here's my hair down (with jacket 3).

What's your advice, ladies? Also I have varied the top from full length to scrunched to faux tucked (the skirt has skinny belt loops, not wanted). Which is best?

I could also add a cream beret or a burgundy floppy brimmed felt hat but I think that WOULD be too much.

Thanks for reading!
