Which Is Better: Blurry or iPad Head?

I am a "headless" poster (and I'm also the only person in the world not on Facebook, LOL). I know it makes it impossible to tell what colors work for me, but I don't plan on posting my face. I'm curious which pic is "better" to look at? Or is it just impossible to judge things either way?

ETA: What about #3: high iPad head?? That's easy to do and maybe shows more of the front. Ignore lighting; it's almost dark here now.

Blurry. I mostly go 'headless' as well. Although lately I've kinda gotten lax on that.

Well, I prefer the lighting in #2, but the iPad IS more distracting than the blurr.

Thank you for posting these - this is me "getting" it: blurry is better, because the proportions & color of your head/hair matter.

Dang! iPad head is soooo much easier. I actually find it hard to hold my iPad to the side (it hurts my wrist, and I'm worried I'll drop it on the tile). And the only "easy" way I know to do blurry head is on the YLF app.

I think either of the first two work. It's nice to get a glimpse of your hair color.

Kappy, we're even because I don't know how to blur. For the sake of time/not firing up a photo editing program, I use the built in windows photo viewer/editor for color correction and Paint for cropping/compositing/drawing a circle over my face.

If you're already in an editing program anyway - crop from just above the chin! That's the least distracting. But if that's not an option, I pick blurry - since your outfit is less obscured and your posture slightly more natural.

I agree with Girl X - crop just above the chin.

Angie used to crop just above the chin, and it worked wonderfully, proportion-wise. We can still see hair, skin coloring...better than blurry or iPad head, imo.

Crop, like Girl X said. That's easy enough to do and you won't have to hold an iPad.

Sorry the blurry is so much work. It helps to see your coloring, and the proportions of your head/neck and collar/neckline. I don't even know how to crop!

Another vote for blurry here, but I wish only the face could be blurred and not the hair. Kind of like how Monkeyface keeps her hair intact but puts the monkey face over her face. Something about being able to see the shape and color of the hair helps put outfits in more context.

Thanks for the opinions anyone. I'm not sure if I'll change how I do anything because sometime I just pick the easiest way, but it's good to know in general.

soobee - we can be "blank bookers" together. I took a look at it, and it just seemed like more work than it was worth. But sometimes I'm a slow adopter.

Doesnt the YLF app have a blurry function? That would make it easier to do.

Yes it does (and it's some of the EASIEST photo editing tools I've ever used). But you can only post 3 pics in one post.
