About your wardrobe and personal style

Which do you choose?

There have been some occasions where I have had to choose which YLF "rule" I will not follow, Usually on holiday when I have not packed wisely!
Here a few examples.
* I chose to wear a dirty sweater over wearing a denim jacket with jeans (or I suppose, over wearing no top layer at all and being very cold)
* I chose wearing shabby sandals overwearing better heels so as not to breach PPL
* I have worn long camis with jeans and T-shirts with skirts because they were the best option I had for PTL and wanted something fitter
Over to you!

Hmmm. I'll have to think about this one. I suppose I have chosen to wear ill-fitting clothing because I need to wear something while I slowly build my YLF-approved wardrobe!!

Yes agree with becky. It takes time to build up the perfect YLF wardrobe and there are several things still in mine that i haven't thrown out yet cause i can't replace them yet!

I agree with Becky too. It takes time to find and afford the things you need. In the meantime you do the best you can.

I break the PPL rule (sorry!) with a couple of pairs of jeans because they fit well everywhere else and at my height, I almost have to get premium jeans to get the correct inseam length. I've gotten a few Gap jeans to fill in but when those are dirty, out come the others (they're only 1/2 inch short, so nothing too terrible). I will gradually replace these as budget allows.

I also wear not so fab items when I know it's going to be an extremely messy day (kids activities and such). I've found I have a harder time during the winter with YLF approved items than I do in the summer...not sure of the reason.

Hmm good question Anne.

I don't think I could ever wear a denim jacket with denim pants...so I would go cold before committing that crime.

I will fudge PPL sometimes. I try to keep it to no more than a 1/2 inch in either direction--and I bet most non YLF people don't notice.

Today I was faced with this choice. Wear a white cami that is a little to high in the neck with my white Bratique shirt (the top of the cami showed) or skip the white cami. Granted, I was planning on wearing a grey jacket, but knew if I took the grey jacket off, I'd be wearing a white shirt w/out a white base layer. I chose to wear the cami and let a bit of it peek out the top. This just reminds me that I need to get a second white low neck cami and only wear it with this top. My other one was in the laundry.

I have held off wearing things until I have the right piece to go with it, or until it was altered properly. But I've also rolled up jacket sleeves so I could wear something before the arms were shortened.

PPL was hard for me, but I"m doing better. I have one pair of pants that are not PPL, and I cringe every time I wear them, but I still do wear them on occasion. They aren't way too short, just an inch or so shorter than they should be.

I know there's others that I'm doing, but I'm making progress & taking one outfit & one purchase at a time.
