Finding the items you need at the right price

Where to find long sleeve layering tops?

I know a lot of stores don't have their full fall lines out yet, but I'd like to know good places to look based on past your experiences. I have not had good luck in previous years finding layering tops.

Here's what I'm looking for:
fairly lightweight but not tissue weight
long sleeve or 3/4 sleeve
close fitting but not tight
will hold shape throughout the day
won't pill or fade in the first season!
open to different necklines - v-neck, scoop, turtle, crew

Has anyone else had any luck?

Oh, I just cleaned out my closet and realized I'm going to be looking for exactly what you describe. I was thinking that eventually JCrew might have items like this -- I should have picked up some of their tissue-weight turtlenecks last year on sale. Oh well. How about you? Were you thinking JCrew or something else?

I've never bought anything from JCrew. I don't live close to any store locations and haven't tried ordering online. If it sounds like what they have will meet my needs, I'm willing to try though.

Before even reading the responses, I was thinking that jcrew tees would fit the bill. They are always good quality and I wear them for years.

The fabric is very nice.

For layering, I like Gap l/s tees. Right now there aren't many colors available, but they'll probably have more later in the season.

You can also check out http://www.myadea.com -

they have great layering tees made from an Italian microfiber that is lightweight, breathable and machine washable. AND they don't pill or loose their shape.

They have a ton of colors and different styles. A bit pricey but they will last you at least a few years.

Honestly for long sleeve layering t's....I have had great luck with FOREVER 21....I know they don't usually have the best quality...but their long sleeve t's retain shape really well and are not super thin or super thick-- their colors aren't usually the best so I stick to them for my white, black and charcoal-- and they're usually cheap enough that I have no problem replacing them every year.
