My closets are out of control. At least half of what's hanging and stacked on shelves should go, for two main reasons:

  1. I have LOTS of wonderful suits and other business wear that I no longer have any use for, as I am mostly retired and when I do work, I work from home.
  2. I have outgrown a lot of my size 10s and 12s -- and even if I get my weight down again, I doubt that it will arrange itself in the same way as it did before.
I am rather tall (5'8"), and I think there are a lot of younger women out there in the world for whom these clothes are well-proportioned. And I've always run a bit ahead of the fashion curve, so most of these things aren't terribly dated.

I guess what I am saying is that I'd like to give these away to others who could use them rather than throw them in a "rag bin." I see people on this forum mention all the time that they are passing along their no-longer-worn items. So I am turning to you wonderful fabbers to ask what organizations you prefer to donate to.

I have heard of Dress for Success, but I believe they require that you take everything to the dry cleaners before donating it, and I really don't want to incur all that expense. My clothes are mostly still hanging in the closets, and I don't put anything back in that I am not willing to wear again in its current condition. So these are nicely kept, as is. Do you know who would be willing to take them in that way?
