So true - being drawn to certain exercises based on body type! I'm more well-versed in the major body types known as Endomorph (softer), Mesomorph (generally muscular), and Ectomorph (small-boned). *My parenthesis* Very, very interesting research done in that field. Check it out all!
CitygirlDC, I don't see a major pear shape, but you ARE slightly smaller up top than on the bottom. I think you can wear anything, personally! (Proportioned for petities, natch!)
ETA: Check out pro swimmers' bodies compared to marathon runners'. Both are fit as heck, but their bodies are so different.
ETA: Suz, I like your thinking! Speed skating sounds like a dream for your strong legs! I LOVE to swim, and luckily I have a bit of a float-able body! Lol.
