What Would You Do: Quality Issue w/beloved blouse. Return or keep?

I have a conundrum...

My beloved J.Crew Tossed Hearts blouse is showing some wear at the seams(?!) particularly on one of the sleeves, which are not under stress since I don't have Popeye's forearms.

I sent a photo to J.Crew and they responded right away that this shouldn't happen and I can return the blouse for store credit. They'll reimburse my return shipping, too - very reasonable. I am torn, though... I love that blouse! The pull doesn't show under a sweater. I would be sad to see it go.

There is one on ebay in my size for around the price I paid for it, so I could presumably stalk a replacement. And there is a copycat in the same print at Reitmans right now (albeit in polyester and with shorter sleeves...). I'm not sure what I would do with the credit.

What would you do?

Ooh! That's a tough one! If you don't know what you'd do with the credit, and you still love th blouse, and you'd be sad to see it go, maybe it's best to keep it.

On the other hand, if you think you can get a replacement of the exact same blouse on eBay for a reasonable price, I'd probably do that.

I would return it because the quality is suboptimal. It's a shame because you love it but the defect limits the top's usefulness and you would have to think how to hide its flaws each time you wore it.

I would return it. If it were me I would focus on the flaw and not the beautiful blouse every time I wore it.

Return it and buy a replacement from eBay. JCrew comes out with new stuff every season, you are bound to find something good eventually.

Are you sure the Ebay one is brand new? If you trust it, I'd jump on the Ebay one and get the store credit for yours and get something else.

If not, I'd keep it. You love it and it has gotten some wear and good use I think?

I'm with IK as well. If it shows wear now it will only get worse with additional wear and it is fairly new.

Do you think the blouse could be repaired? If so might it be worth it to ask J Crew if they would pay for the repair as it's not possible to get a replacement from them?

Store credit is great if there is something else you really want to get there. But sometimes I find myself with store credit and nothing that really excites me so I just end up holding onto it and trying not to forget I have it.

Oh and I don't like store credit, it's not your fault that their garments are defective. They should either replace the blouse or refund your money. Store credit is not right, try to speak with a manager to get your money back or a new top.
I wish you lots of persistence on this one.
