... you got 40% off all Nordstrom brand items (Caslon, Halogen, Hinge, Trouve, Tarnish, BP, Classiques, Make and Model, Shimera, etc?)

Today is the last day of this employees-only promotion and I haven't bought a single thing. I always get overwhelmed when I have an opportunity like this and end up buying nothing, or buying what I don't really need. So far I'm thinking about getting a long sleeve Caslon layering tee. Haha. I feel like I should take advantage of this opportunity and get some good deals for fall.

Will you help me brainstorm some ideas and post some links? I will be at work from 12-6 and I need to purchase today! Will be checking the forum from my phone throughout the day for ideas! Thank you.

I'm not really sure what I need, but am thinking fall blouses (tunic length, maybe) and maybe some trendy-ish sweaters. Not too sure beyond that! I think I should focus on work-wear (business casual).

Great pendant necklace! You have to see the metals in person to find out which one looks best. You should also look at some flats from Classiques or Halogen ...

I can't pick out specific things for you, but just a thought...You're back in Chicago now, so do you have need of any fall/winter-appropriate stuff that wasn't necessasry in AZ? Like boots or a leather jacket or a trench or something statementy?
If not, and if it were me, I'd maybe find a super-versital blazer that I could use to smarten up any work outfit throughout the dominantn seasons.

I love the necklace. Chicago gets cold in winter. How about a blazer or sweater? You probably already have some blouses and tanks that you can layer under them from AZ.

I love the Halogen cardigans. I have this crew neck (which is really almost a scoop neck) in several colors:

Marianna, I only bought two things so far; the lace classiques blouse and leather pencil skirt from NAS.

But I also try to stock up on BP. camis and cardis during the sale...and don't forget hosiery!

I agree with the others that you can't go wrong with some Halogen picks, whether it's a nice top, scarf or skirt and I really like many of the links the women have shared! (Thanks.) Yes, I guess it's a good idea to see what's on "your list" or what wardrobe needs you have at the moment. Happy shopping.

Hi everyone! Thanks for all the fab suggestions. I tried on a bunch of stuff but nothing really wowed me too much. I ended up buying 2 BP camis for layering, a black Caslon long sleeve layering tee, 6 pairs of Nordstrom tights (3 black, 2 grey, 1 purple to try) and this Hinge scarf in the fuchsia color: http://shop.nordstrom.com/s/hi.....ltback=303

So I just stalked up on some basics. I didn't buy mediocre stuff just because of the good deal and I'm proud of myself for that! Last year I went nuts and bought stuff I didn't need... this year I know better.
