What will you wear this holiday season?

I posted a top I bought in another thread but we have a lot of events and I've been mostly uninspired by what's in the stores so far.

Anyone have some great holiday pieces they've seen or purchased?

I found a metallic shimmery vest (topshop) Nordies rack-waiting for it to arrive. I have a satiny white blouse and some high waisted wide leg dressy pants that are old, so I am hoping the vest will dress it up. This for my dressier party, and for my casual one I just found a red embellished asyetrical hem tunic sweater that I will wear with either black skinnies or ponte skinnies. I will take photos when the vest arrives. The sweater arrived Friday and it is lovely. no photos yet as I have not had time-but will post some soon as I try the outfit together.

I do know it will include ankle-length skinny pants with black heels. I will either wear the Eileen Fisher ankle-length pants I already own or buy new ones specifically for the Holidays. I will team the skinny pants with a sweater and blazer.

I have narrowed my blazer search down to the one shown. If I go with the blazer shown, I will likely wear a very plain, thin-knit, crewneck sweater. I do own some very fancy and shiny jewelry that belonged to my Mother. I wear them only once a year.

I will wear the same exact outfit to all of my Holidays events because there is very little overlap in terms of people. The one person that may attend some of the same functions is my boyfriend and he is very ok with me wearing repeat outfits.

I'm not sure yet but I know it will be separates a la Angie's blog post on Friday.

I have a few pieces that I regularly trot out: a couple of sparkly sweaters, a tux jacket, a sparkly top, a taffeta-like skirt, a black cashmere sweater with a portrait neckline. I'm also getting some velvet leggings this year, and I have a dark burgundy silk dress that might get some play.

DH and I will be heading to Naples, FL, in December, and there will be several cocktail events. I just bought this dress. I'm generally not a fan of the brand, but this dress is surprisingly flattering (when I am feeling kind of down about not being in the shape I wish I were). It runs surprisingly large, though, and I had to size down two sizes from what I typically wear (and it still fits loosely the way a dress like this is supposed to skim the body and not hug it).

I am still seeking low heels, and just ordered several pairs from Nordie's to test out.

As Angie said in her post on Holiday separates, events have gotten so much more casual. I have a variety of separates that I plan to use but want to add a pair of navy jacard jeans that could look casually festive with a navy sweater. I'd also like to find a top with some metallic gold in it to wear with my metallic gold jeans. For a bit dressier occasions, I have a black wool beaded skirt that I love and tuxedo pants and jacket with patterned sequined top and either dressy boots or kitten heeled pumps.
I will also be sure to wear a bone-out ( like white-out) EF outfit

I just ordered this dress from Anthro today--my size is backordered though and I'm shipping to my parents' house for Thanksgiving, so if the package arrives late and has to be forwarded I may not get it until early December, the week before the parties I'm attending.

I was previously considering a Club Monaco dress too, but I was able to try it on in store and decided that the long sleeves are a bit conservative for me. Attached in Finds in case anyone is looking for a long-sleeved cocktail dress which are rare beasts.

I'm on call for the entire Thanksgiving holiday (Wednesday-Sunday) and New Year's Eve and day.

I most likely will not be able to attend the one holiday party I'm invited to.

My holiday events will most likely be quite casual, just hanging out with family and friends. But I do like to dress up a bit anyway. This fall I ordered a long wine-colored cardigan (a bit dressier than others I own), and I've worn it a couple of times to a concert and a nice dinner out. It'll probably get some wear this holiday season with my black skinny ponte pants and maybe a lacy black top underneath. I quite like this outfit with gold chandelier earrings and a long, simple gold tassel pendant.

Separates all the way! For DH's work event and our New Year's Eve party, I'll wear a sparkly black tunic and slim black trousers (wool? ponte? velveteen straight leg jeans?), pointy pumps, maybe my tuxedo jacket, probably a new clutch. For the other events, fluid ink pullover and black jeans (bootcut denim or the velveteen straights), ink clutch, black booties.

I have more on this year than usual...

Degustation dinner - thinking I might wear an older chocolate brown 1920s dress, it is very pretty but not at all trendy. Or maybe my Bailey 44 dress.

Night at the races - will wear my black dress and bronze fascinator, with a wrap or jacket.

Christmas Party 23rd December - new pleated blue, black and cream dress

Christmas Day - yet to decide

27th December Party - probably striped maxi dress or ankle pants and top, will find out more details

January wedding - as per 23rd December

I have about three other Christmas dos but they are all quite casual - I could wear a Maxi dress, jeans and a nice tee, my gingham dress etc

Hmm-- not sure. A bit higher pressure since I'm spending the holidays with the SO's family which are not as casual as mine (they host a Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas Eve, and Christmas day). There is a work potluck, but I have no idea what it is like. No fancy work Christmas party for me this year (that is usually the SO's party, and he isn't working yet). I don't know if we will do anything for New Year's Eve. Then our anniversary is January 5th.

I'm mostly concerned with the family parties and don't know how dressy or casual to go or how warm or cool it will be in people's homes (I've never been to one of the places, and the other's I've only been a few times).

So far my holiday events are Thanksgiving dinner (Haute Hippie dress from NAS) and possible YLF High Tea in Boston (JCrew lace top, AG leatherette pants, booties). If the lace top is as good as I hope I will also wear it for the book group holiday dinner I host, and maybe also for a little holiday party I am itching to hold, probably in the week before New Years. (On New Years Eve, I wear pajamas.)

We have so many events - probably 4-5 dressy house parties, holiday pops symphony, nutcracker, etc.

I struggle with festive clothing but trying to get it right this year. I am planning to wear an aztec poncho/wrap with jeans for Thanksgiving as this a casual holiday for us. I bought a open back gray sweater that I plan to wear with jeans or ponte pants and sparkly flats for a holiday party. Christmas Eve is a dressy evening and I need to figure out a dress to wear. I think I'd better try to take some pics ahead of time so that I can figure it all out.

Can I ask thoughts on this outfit? I'm not typically a Vince Camuto fan, but I'm a wondering about this top and pants combo a teensy bit. It's super interesting. Just not sure if the colors are "Christmas" enough for me. Thoughts?

I have no idea if we even have any events to attend. If we do, they will be super casual. I will probably just pull from my closet (given my recent shopping spree it shouldn't be hard). I don't know the items will be holiday-ish per se, but will be appropriate for the event(s) nonetheless.

I just bought a long multi coloured cotton kaftan with beads and tassels around the neckline. I will wear it with a pair of tbar sandals with gold decoration. Cool and delicious as the temperatures rise!

I ended up buying something totally unexpected the other day, with the help of my favorite Nordstrom stylist. I LOVE it! And my family loves it took. Will wear this with black pants and strappy shoes, plus a great silver cuff bracelet and this amazingly simple necklace she found that will work soooo well. Now I just have to find some chunky silver earrings.

This is by Vince Camuto and the price is fabulous - only $79. I'm not normally a Vince Camuto fan so much, but I love this.
