I've been a shopping fiend, since I Kondo'ed my closet. I know the goal was not to clean it out so that i could buy more, but I was left with almost nothing for spring and an impending trip to Florida.
I'm most looking forward to wearing a midi skirt I found at White House Black Market on sale. I haven't worn a midi skirt in decades, and I plan on pairing it with a new black and white striped v-neck tee that I got at Target for $6. I also just ordered a pair of white denim ankle jeans from Talbots; white denim is also something I haven't worn in decades, so I didn't want to splurge too much. I also have several pair of shoes on order.
Next on my list is a soft chambray shirt.

I'm trying to keep my closet in a tidy and somewhat minimal state, so I'm not adding a lot. Besides, I still love many of last years' purchases (hello Ted Baker tee and Karen Millen tote) and I'm looking forward to start wearing those again. But I've bought a pair of leather sneakers in cream (tusk) from Filippa K that I'm looking forward to break out. And, of course, the new navy moto as soon as it's warm enough. I also found a pale blue button down that I enjoy wearing already, and a striped sweater (COS). If I find a nice pair of jeans with a flare this spring, I might get it, and I like the idea of culottes - but maybe not for shorty me.

I purchased one silk blouse from WHBM, I also purchased a dress to match this jacket, but I couldn't get a pic of the dress sorry. It's a simple sheath, but it fits perfectly and dresses and tops are my primary goal for Spring/Summer.

I have a shirt dress on order from Lafayette NY, I love the color. I'm hopeful it will look nice and fit well.

I for one am very much looking forward to getting some slip on trainers! I have been drooling over all the cute patterns that are out now from Vans, but all the brands are doing it--leopard print slip ons! Love these ones from Ash the best, but not really within my budget!!! They also have metallic ones, or shiny black ones... décisions décisions!

Interesting how much white is in our future! I’m looking
forward to the spring WIWs.

Laura: The JCF
flats are of moderate quality I would say. They are fabric, so my guess is that
with my hard wear of shoes, they will only last one or possibly two seasons at
most. But that’s pretty much what I would expect from a lightweight non-leather
flat.

Texstyle: I hate
thinking about shorts! I will be watching you closely to see if you find a
style that I could be excited about.

Ummlila: I know
what you mean. Puffers and heavy wool every single day. Ugh.

ElizabethP:
Thanks for the detail on that dress. I’m on a shopping break for a little while
but when I can reach back into my wallet I may try that dress. I never order
tall but it’s a smart idea to get more length.

Angie: Have you
posted pics of the light blue Furla? I must have missed them. Can’t wait to see
it!

Linda and doubleh:
Great shoes! Shine and florals – how utterly un-winterlike.

Karie: I love
that Regent blazer – can’t wait to see that on you.

Summer, Suz, Laura, Diana,
and Unfrumped:
I admore your restraint. I am not ready to really start
looking at my spring things yet, but I find that picking up a couple of new
thigns is almost essential to getting through these tough last weeks/months of
winter. Or, maybe I am just rationalizing?

Ginkgo: I can so
relate. I stare so longingly at my white scuba top. I cannot wait to wear it.

Retailgirl: I
love the sound of that cardigan! I know what you mean about taking out the
spring clothing …. But my problem is that my closet holds pretty much all of my
clothing, so I see it year round. Maybe that’s actually something I should
consider changing, so that I get the emotional boost you mention!

So looking forward to seeing all of the new purchases, Deb, Rachylou, Laura, Kiwigal, Windchime,
Ann, and Staysfit.

AM: I want to try
to create boards like that, if I ever feel enough motivation. I’ve never done
it before, but I really love yours and feel they could be useful.

Gennifyr: Those
loafers are AMAZING. Where are they from?

Caro: I’ve been
thinking about new slip-ons too. I’ll be interested to see which you decide on.

I’ve got to hop on a flight – hope I got to everyone! It’s
been so fun reading all about the spring. Makes me forget what awaits me in
Maine.

Viv, haven't posted pics yet. You'll know when I do though.

The loafers are from forever21 of all places.

Hi all!
Here's my first spring purchases top list:
- 100% Cotton Pareo; i think this could be perfect as a coverup for this summer
- Net dress with long sleeves

Can't wait to receive them, i love italian style!

Viva - the two items you've purchased are stellar, I really like both of them!
AM - I also love your boards. How do you convert the PPT to an image? Or did you just upload the images you had saved for use in PPT?

The purchase I'm most excited about right now is one I didn't even make myself! There is a store we see on the way home every day (hubz picks me up from the train) and it had this gorgeous red sleeveless peplum top with black lace at the collar, and he just couldn't get over how pretty it was. So last week, he stopped in and purchased it, then surprised me with it on the way home! I don't have any pictures of it yet, but imagine the plain red one below in shape and length, but with a v-neck, and a lot less black lace than the one I show here.I plan to wear it with my black pencil skirt with faux leather panels, and either the micromesh or lace top underneath. For a more casual vibe, I might wear it with skinny jeans and a black cardigan.

My spring goals and inspiration are here - the items I'm most hoping to find and therefore probably most excited about are lightweight and lighter colored tights/hose for summer (my legs are like two glowsticks, I hate showing them bare!), and a pair of dark wash denim shorts that won't be too bootylicious. Most likely to be worn with leggings or tights, because again, I don't like showing my legs lol.

Spring?
A mythical season that occurs March 21st

It snowed here yesterday.
I'm looking forward to spring and wearing my new Eileen Fisher Allot flats with silk track pants and more. They are a found HEWI from last year. It is still too cold to wear footwear without wool socks. I've still got boots in regular rotation.

My first purchase for the Spring is the Eliza Boden top which I have yet to wear. For future Spring purposes, I need to find some basics:

  1. black pencil skirt
  2. printed a-line skirt
  3. trench coat
  4. whiskey / caramel colored flats/heels/sandals
  5. navy ankle pants

I'm sure there's more to add but that's all I can think of right now.
