What length for the BF jeans?

I hemmed the EB boyfriend jeans to PPL this afternoon and tried rolling them again. I can comfortably roll them up until I have the length in #1-2, but they are a bit long for a comfortable roll to the length in #3-4. I like the second length better, I think they don't taper enough for #1/2, am I right?

I can't taper them myself, but I could hem them shorter to comfortable roll them up for #3/4. Or should I leave them as they are for alteration (tapering) later on?

Which length would you go for?

With 1 and 2, if you want more of a taper, just fold the pant over when you roll them. That gives them a taper, but lets you maintain the straight leg if it works better for you for the longer length. I say a discussion on this earlier on the forum. Just search for "pegging" or "pegged" jeans. That's what we called it in the '80s.

I don't know about the length, but I just wanted to say that I LOVE these on you Astrid. You have such a feminine look with your bountiful curls that the juxtaposition of the BF is extra-perfect on you! I like your level of slouchiness, too. Very attractive.

I think you could go with #1 or #2 but Angie likely has the more knowledgeable eye on this - I'm glad you chose these Astrid, they look great and I love the top and belt you chose - very well done!

I think these look great on you. I'd roll them a little longer than 1-2 even. The shorter length is nice, but limited to warmer temps and you'd want to shorten them again to reduce the bulk of the roll. I like that you can still wear them normal length. You can always peg them when you roll (someone linked to a pegging tutorial on a recent BF jeans thread)

A lthough, if you like the knicker (Canadian/US term, I don't mean underwear!) length and will wear them more when it is warmer then hem them shorter, they look good either way.

Thanks Claire! I haven't worn them out yet, but I suspect that I'll feel much more comfortable in them as in skinnies, for example. They just feel right to me - now I just have to get used to the length as in #1/2!

Thanks Jjsloane! I didn't like them longer when I rolled them up the normal way, but I think it might work better with the pegging. I agree that leaving them long is better; the dark wash will work great in fall.
