Maya, I really do have a squishy middle. A lot of it is loose skin from pregnancy - I can actually ball it up in two fists, that's how much there is! All the running in the world has barely made a dent. A tummy tuck would do miracles, but I am not going under the knife.
So it's all about fit of the clothes, particularly pants. This is why I don't wear low rise, and why I like shirts that aren't too form-fitting in the middle, or have ruching or patterns (which are another good disguise). And it took me awhile to realize my waistline IS tiny - it's just HIGHER. Hee hee.
Thanks for the compliments on the hair. Yeah, I saw that BR model and had to laugh. But I had the haircut first. I finally cut it short about a year and a half ago, after years of wearing it all the time back in a ponytail. The first cut, was a Pob (Posh Bob). I really loved it. Then my hairdresser disappeared, so I went to a new one, and they gave me something that was less Pob and more Martha Stewart. Yuck. Then my hairdresser reappeared, and gave me a sorta-Pob... only better! I loved that cut. But now he's disappeared on me again, with no forwarding info... so this last cut was done by someone new, and it's okay, but I'm not liking the sweep bang and she used those texturizing shears, which makes my hair want to curl in odd places, esp on humid days!
It's true the first photo (with the sunglasses) looks straight out of BR. The pants are BR, top is from Macy's, sunglasses from Filene's basement.
Pile of shoes in the background: I'm still in process of swapping out cold weather shoes for warm weather shoes. I only have room in my closet for one or the other. So my bedroom's a bit of a mess right now!
