Hmm. Depends on the kind of cooking. If I'm wearing a silky blouse and I'm not gonna cheat my way through dinner prep with the microwave, I'll change out of that into something easier to wash and less prone to damage. If I'm really gonna cook up a storm, or do some heavy baking, then I'll don an apron.

ps: My apron is a stiff canvas, a kind of periwinkle blue - solid and plain - with a nice big pocket and easily adjusted neck strap. I've been through a lot of aprons for aesthetic reasons. This is hilarious to me. Had one that had a button for a hand towel, which was brilliant. But it was in a toîle print and that irked my nerves...Heh...
