What do I wear under this dress?

Ok, so I just bought the second dress I have ever purchased. I am a complete undergarment novice. I just bought this dress and I am having a hard time figuring out what to wear with it. I want a smooth line from top to bottom. I am considering a body suit. I f I went that route would I need a slip as well? Any other ideas? I am open to all suggestions.

From what I can see, you don't really need anything more than a good bra and panties. It doesn't appear that you need shapewear, so why torture yourself. I really like the dress on you. Perhaps you could try some accessories... a necklace, a cute clutch. I like your shoes with the dress.

The dress looks great! I would echo Catnip that it certainly doesn't look like you need shapewear underneath, but if you choose to go that route, I don't think you would need a slip as well.
I sometimes wear a skirt shaper if I am wearing a dress or tube skirt that's more body con than usual, just because it helps me to wear with more confidence, and I find the line to be smooth without the restrictiveness of a full body suit.

I agree with Catnip. If you have panty line I find a boy cut panty works well without the need for special shapers.

Thank you for the replies. I am not as concerned about needing a shaper as I am about the lines created by a bra and panties. This picture is so dark you can't tell, but you can completely see multiple lines from my undergarments, and I want a smooth line.

You need a slip, then. That will solve the issue.

Either that -- or the dress's fabric isn't right for you, or you need to size up a bit. (I can't see that you do from the picture, but sometimes that will help. More often, though, it's the type of jersey -- some seem to glide better over the bumps than others.)

Hi Ivorygorgon --

I was going to echo others about not seeing a need for much but given the extra details can think of a few routes to try.

Full slip over your most minimalist bra and boy short style underwear
Half slip over same type of bra, experiment with underwear
Best bra, sleek underwear + mid-thigh shaper (I find sizing up for comfort streamlines without adding bulges)

You could certainly try an all-in-one leotard type shaper but personally I think those things are satanic.
