Skirts, tights and tall boots. Or tucked my jeans in Sorel-like boots. Or just let the hems become soggy.

As a good Western girl, I wore my bootcuts like every cowgirl--with riding boots and always hemmed to the point where the heel met the shoe. Tucking into cowboy boots immediately branded you as an "Eastern City Slicker", and anyone sporting Angie's PPL would have been met with stunned stares and guffaws of laughter because soggy hems would have been the last thing you'd have fretted about after dragging those hems through a corral. Only those wearing English riding tack were allowed to tuck into their tall riding boots.

It's funny that I still can't quite accept sweeping the ground at the back with my bootcuts--flares, yes, but not bootcuts. The crumpling and folding at the front that happens with that length on a bootcut just looks like elephant legs compared to the sleek, cowgirl look, at least to my eye.

Today is a perfect example of why weather and not fashion has always dictated my outerwear lol... This is about 5 minutes into my commute home.
