I'm curious about other people's clothing cleaning and storing habits. How often do you wash your clothing items? (I know this will depend on the item.)
If you reuse items before washing, where do you store them?

I wash my tops (when worn directly against skin) after just one wear. Even if I didn't sweat in them, I don't like the smell of my deodorant or perfume lingering there.

Underwear and socks, of course, after only one wear. Except for bras, which I wash maybe once every two weeks.

Other items are washed as they become soiled. Or, for instance, if I took public transportation or sat on a public bench or even took the airplane (which is, I guess, public transportation), then I wash my bottoms.

If an item has been worn but won't be washed immediately I store it back in its drawer or hanger. My husband, however, doesn't like to do this; if an item has been worn and he plans on wearing it again before washing, he doesn't like to mix it with clean stored clothes. He used to pile them up on a coat/hat stand (which would end up looking like a Christmas tree). We called it his "system." Now we don't have the stand anymore and his things pile up... on the floor, much to my chagrin.
